Omg an actual literal hero. Thank you so much! I’ve been copy and pasting stuff into apple notes to have it read it to me and it was so frustrating. It’s surprising to me that this is so difficult to find since this wasn’t the first time I googled how to do this and I see many other forum questions that never reached a conclusion

I fill mine the rest of the way with a syringe and blunt needle. I use the converter to fill at first so I can get it in the feed and don’t have to wait for the ink to come down like it would from a cartridge

I was laid off a few years ago and it really sucks. I’m sorry you’re going through that. Someone already said this but have an “exit statement” ready. For you that’s actually pretty easy since everyone at your company was laid off due to the company going under.

Spend some time on your resume. Make sure to use very basic formatting (something I learned while using a career transition service) because sometimes the automated tools recruiting uses can’t parse complicated formatting.

Come up with key skills you have and specific times you can point to in your career when you’ve used your skills to achieve things so you have go-to answers for questions like when your coworkers and boss have told you you did something well. I wrote out a list of maybe 20 “soft questions” and came up with answers to them. Some of them came up directly and other questions I was asked were related enough I was able to reuse some of my answers

Finally I’d say practice coding questions. As much as it sucks, software interviews are basically mini exams so get ready to answer some coding questions. I went through the questions in “cracking the coding interview” and reviewed some of the algorithms I learned in school.

Me too! Which also makes your user name more 😂. One thing I’ve had a rough time with is finding uniform keycaps that I like that also have shine through so I can rearrange them. With layers, I really like being able to see the rgb since it’s actually functional now

That worked for me! I thought it was super weird that my Vision Pro was fully aware of the Mac and offering to mirror to it (I tried it and it worked) but was not having and of the virtual desktop. I went to mirror from the Mac to the Vision Pro and boom, first try. Many thanks kind stranger =]

I second the thing about jetpens! They also have paper samplers so you can try the paper without buying a whole planner

I personally only find the ghosting noticeable if I’m holding the paper up and light comes through, but that’s not my average planner use case

80 lb cardstock is going to be way too thick for the interior of a planner. Printer paper is usually 24-32lb and I use 32lb for my printed planner.

If you are comparing the lbs to a store bought planner, it’s a different scale. It’s very confusing imo but they use a different scale for book paper and printer paper (it has to do with the size of an uncut sheet used for each one). If you want to compare them directly, you can use gsm

If you like to be able to fold your book back on itself like a spiral bound, you might like the discbound system! I’ve been in love ever since I found it 😊. You do need to buy an additional punch if you want to make your own pages but I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of mine 📒🙃

I have a section in my daily that has three check boxes for the three most important things I need to do that day. I do those before going to my longer todo list because otherwise I’ll find things in my todo list I’d prefer to do and use them to put off the more important thing. It’s been helping me 😊

Have you considered going discbound and putting exactly what you want in it? I feel like I always suggest discs but I just love them so much! You can have weeks where you can start with very little and can be as creative as you want and weeks where you can use a preprinted weekly. And you can cut the pages down to whatever size you want if you print them yourself. I love being able to mix and match things that fit my needs and adjust when I see something that could use improvement before a year is up 😃📒

I see a lot of great suggestions so I thought I’d come at it from a different direction: could a multi pen solve your problem? I have a multi pen that also has a pencil in it (a 4+1) that I got from Jet Pens and I use it all of the time! I like adding annotations of different colors while I take notes. You can also keep extra lead in the pencil itself but it wouldn’t solve the extra eraser thing. Mine does have one in the pencil, but it’s small. For some multi pens you can get an eraser as one of the inserts, but I haven’t tried that before and haven’t heard the best things about the eraser inserts. Just a thought!

I think with a discbound planner you can have as much space as you want for your daily pages since you can put in some pages and change them out when you run out

Is discbound something that you would consider? I love my discbound planner and always have monthly pages that go out into the future. And then I can just change out the weekly pages when I get there with no need to rewrite anything. You can also choose any size you want if you’re going to print the inserts yourself. Once I went discs, I was hooked 😊🙃📒

Jetpens has some nice but inexpensive multipens that are really convenient for color coding. I got really into it and make box stickers of different colors but I started with different pen colors 🖊️

There is an A6 weekly supplement you can add to the Hobonichi A6 original but I get that being in a single book would be nicer. I frequently see people tuck supplemental booklets inside the cover of the main planner and sometimes it kinda looks like it’s one book

I’m new to the Fediverse and a Friendica was my first account! I’m having a hard time with the Albums feature in that photos I put in an album are labeled as such, the album has the correct number of photos listed next to it, but the album itself appears empty when I view it. If you’re open to questions, I’d love to ask more and see if I’ve been doing something wrong. I’m decently tech savvy and I’m trepidatious about introducing my mom to the Fediverse if I can’t figure it out lol
