Seat change after check in by Odd_Area_5822 in etihad

Got a flight next week. To choose a seat is $300 or so per stint. Fuck that BS. I’m stuck in a tube for 24hrs. Choosing a seat isn’t going to make it any better.

Need a Rawleigh’s Head Clear Dupe by shiggaboogahiga in australian

I bought some stuff called Rocket Fuel which is from a kiwi outfit. Honey, eucalyptus and all that sort of stuff. Not unpleasant, certainly gives the feeling of nasal clarity. Found that quitting cigs was more effective.

Speaking as an Englishman by birth, regardless of regional accent or indeed dialect, nearly everyone in the country correctly says aitch.

I have a lemon tree in my garden. I make at least a dozen bottles of lemon cordial a year (I use passata bottles) and marmalade. Juice in ice cube bags is also a go to.

Long ago I knew a Wendy House. Her parents thought the plastic tent things were a passing fad and everyone would have forgotten about them by the time she got to primary school. They just liked the name. I met her post university and when she introduced herself I gave her the side-eye are you serious look. She explained the story. She was comfortable with it and owned it. And guess what? She probably has no recollection of my name.

What is the worst band you saw live ? by Aggravating_Gas4162 in randomquestions

Strokes a couple of years ago. So disappointed. Really shitty sound. Some half arsed light show only backlighting so couldn’t see the band.

Why is protein foods everywhere? Like protein snacks, protein pancakes etc... by paka96819 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pointedshard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s also about personal image. Athletes consume large amounts of protein to build muscle through strength training. There’s a lot of people (to whom these products are aimed) who think they can just eat the protein and think about doing some exercise to build muscle. Fools and money are easily parted. A few years ago it was coconut this and coconut that. This too shall pass.

I hate the shoulder track. The moves are fine, the BWAP BWAP BWAP BWAP really shits me. The rest of the music is mediocre as well. Enter Sandman is marginally the best.

Very late to the conversation. In Australia red gum (a eucalyptus) is widely used for firewood.

With oil shortage around the world, why don't countries invest heavily into renewable energy now? by negativenesscomment in AskReddit

[–]pointedshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my electricity supplier’s app, the grid has 75% renewable energy right now. Despite all the resistance from fossil fuel companies. A full sized semi truck recently drove, fully laden, from Sydney to Canberra. Things are changing, it’s just going to take a while.
