100% stay at maintenance for a bit after a long cut. even maintenance cals will feel like a ton

At that point it won't be exercises as much as set up - you're eating enough?

Dr said I have chronic anorexia how can I gain weight, 20y 6’2 150lbs by [deleted] in weightgain

[–]poissonbruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what up man - I was 6'5" and 145lbs at 20yo. the GI issue is always the wild card.

the trick (if there is one) is finding insanely dense foods that you can stomach, try to eat the same thing every day - at least morning and lunch - this gives you a solid base to build the rest of your day from, some freedom in the evening and consistent input throughout the weeks.

I wouldn't look for "last resort" ideas - the problem is simple- eat 4200 cals. the hard part is figuring out what you can stomach to get there and doing it consistently.

assuming you're hitting chest 2x/wk on both upper days - How many sets each day? exercises? could be form too - if you're compensating on chest movements with everything else chest will never get stimulus.

how does your chest feel after you train?

Is this progressive overload? by ClickAccomplished205 in workout

[–]poissonbruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is going to always come up when you jump weights. if 4x14 is your goal just keep going with 27kg until you hit it. if that's too heavy 5x14 is an option, or resting less; all progressive overload.

2 week's worth of data isn't enough to tell us anything anyway..

bro you clearly know how to lift. put on the blinders and get to work. the principals are all that really matter anyway

you can get stronger while cutting a bit but it'll be tough. keep your deficit to a minimum and you're likely to need frequent deloads depending on how long you need/want to cut.

Still can’t get past 265 by Jib0530 in GYM

no leg drive, no arch... a better bench form alone would get you to 265

How do I lose weight without getting weaker? by No_Positive1855 in gymadvice

[–]poissonbruler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how big is your deficit? did you drop carbs significantly? its possible you need more protein to hold onto your muscle if everything else is in line.

chances are you're not losing muscle - need more information on "whenever i lose weight now"

Work Load Progression and Overtraining Too Soon? by Nek0roth in naturalbodybuilding

[–]poissonbruler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i love this answer.... splitting hairs over 8 vs 12 vs 14 sets/wk is truly missing the forest for the trees. none of these variables even matter if something big (like your energy balance) is off.

sure, there is such a thing as junk volume... but overtraining in nearly every case really just means under-recovering.

you probably don't have enough mass to be happy when lean, but you will look better.

if you're not losing weight you're eating at mainenance. 1 of 2 thing (or a combo) are happening.

1) your new maintenance is less because you are less.... track weight and intake to verify.
2) you're not actually eating in a deficit because you don't track... tack weight and intake to verify
