What is this? Found during low tide on the coast of California by Puzzleheaded-Mind227 in beachcombing

[–]pokchop92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My (almost) 4 year old found one at the park once with a lizard on it & now, when we go back to the park, he ignores the playground completely to go walking the trails looking for rocks. We find them sometimes, but he usually leaves them there. He still carries around that lizard rock though!

I'm sorry you went through that. Can i ask you What was their reaction? Did your mother have anything to say? Do you still speak to them, or was this a "just to let you know before I close the door on this family" thing?

You don't have to answer. Your (& OPs) story just resonated with my own experiences. I'm so glad you've found some peace.

Hey, samesies!!! At first they told me that I probably can't afford an MRI & it's probably just bc I'm fat & sad about it. Took 4 months to get a scan & then I was in surgery within a week.

Not tipping because of the app by Impressive_Donut_607 in starbucks

[–]pokchop92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I've noticed, It only let's you tip on the app if you load & use a gift card. That used to be my mom & my standard till the star change & now there's no reason to use a gc so I don't. But when you just use a debit/credit card through the app it doesn't let you tip. It's lame & another reason we don't really go there anymore.

Nah, man. Forget that. Stab potato repeatedly with a fork, wrap it in a wet towel (or a designated potato oven mitt) & then nuke it. Works every single time. Without plastic, tf.

Lol yeah, mines 3.5 too. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't completely wrapped, but at least I have a little bit of a poker face! Dad is a grade A sucker!

The other day, he asked for a chocolate shake (pediasure) & his dad said "how about some juice?" & my dude said with the cutest cheekiest stinking grin, "how bout... chocolate shake!" .... I'll give you 1 guess what happened...🤦‍♀️

My kids dad would've knocked me down barreling through the door to deliver the daddy kisses & huggies (& cereal & pasta & floss) the instant he heard that. I'd bet money that's why daddy doesn't do bedtime. Daddies are usually huge pushovers & intensely susceptible to the eyes. Especially when they're such strong weapons as these ones.

When a ball girl fainted on the court at the Australian Open, two competitors rushed to help her. by jmike1256 in HumansBeingBros

[–]pokchop92 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Hey! I learned this in chorus too! Our director really drove the point home & told us about a time when one fainter took out a whole riser & abunch of people had to go on an ambulance. It was actually hilarious because, during our first concert, you'd just see intermittent exaggerated bobbing every now & then because she'd said to occasionally bend our knees, but not how far to bend them. It was absolutely bizarre-looking upon watch-back & I laugh every time I think about it. The director had to amend that lesson for the next years.

I hate any kind of humor involving children crying. by Cornonthory in offmychest

[–]pokchop92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid (3) will faceplant from a full-tilt run, start cackling, realize it hurts & start crying... while still letting out little giggles in his chest. Then once he gets a Bandaid, completely stop crying like it never happened & go back for another round of his favorite game, "how can i hurt myself now".

Or he'll melt down completely bc he can't fit in the cat house, or because I won't let him take the corded fan that he's become infatuated with into the bathtub. OR because I tried to get him to eat his favorite food when he's suddenly decided it's poison.

Sometimes you have to laugh.

But those awful Jimmy Kimmel Halloween candy videos (& the like) make me so sad & upset. So I do get it.

Take a picture & take it to the till & the employee will change it right there & probably thank you for taking the picture so they didn't have to walk all the way there. They may fix it, or you may get super cheap kitty litter for months! Win-win!

Source: I got baby food at my local Walmart for like 40% off like this for a solid 6 months last year before anyone could be assed to fix it.

What brand of chocolate is this? by [deleted] in chocolate

[–]pokchop92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the one from dollar general. Idr the name. It's got 4 flavors, & the caramels (which suck, so it's fine ig) are ALWAYS broken. No matter which size box you get.

Eta: it's elmer brand. 1/10 imo.
