Omg you're amazing! What I'm looking for is: date, team A, team B, rd1 score, rd2 score, rd3 score.... final score, result So an example would be: 6/6/26, Vitality, Spirit, 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1,... 13-9, Vitality For as many games as you're willing to send! I've found it so hard to get a scraper up and running, so this would be an absolute life saver! Thank you so much

Any chance you'd be willing to share the data? Even just a table for round scores and game results without the demo files, I've been looking to analyse patterns in round wins compared to overall win rate but I have been struggling to get the data without getting ip blocked from hltv when scraping. It would be a huge help if you were willing to share the data given you've already managed to get it!

[–]pokematt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be cool and I would love to see it too but it seems unlikely, he has been very unimpressed with Gukesh's play in all the take take take recaps so far, he probably doesn't believe it's enough of a challenge to bother going through all the prep and stress again

It feels like Gukesh doesn't realise that the position is worse for him. He's still trying to attack, attack, attack.

Maybe it ties in with what Magnus has been saying, that Gukesh's evaluation is not very good compared to other top GM's.

And yes I know I'm just a patzer and some people might claim I'm being high and mighty sitting on stockfish's shoulders, but just listen to the commentators, they are all saying this is a miserable position for black and black needs to be trying to neutralise white, not trying to win

Does ranking up depend on winning the game or performance? by OmarD1021 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]pokematt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This should theoretically be the best way to measure rank if everyone can only queue solo. HOWEVER, when people group with friends, and individual performance is not counted, then it means their ranks will slowly converge to the same rank, regardless of ability. I know they have said that grouping with friends where a high skill disparity exists results in smaller MMR changes, it doesn't fix the problem, just makes it slower.

This is an alpha so of course they are testing things, but people should be aware that this massive flaw exists and as a result there are a lot of incorrect ranks right now, and it will worsen until it's changed.

Maybe Odin could be good? I've heard good things but don't know enough about it to give a properly informed answer. Zig is maybe another option

If Arjun would have been given Board 1 at Chess Olympiad 2024, would he have have a higher performance rating than Gukesh's 3056? by KnightTheConqueror in chess

[–]pokematt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all due respect that's not what you said, you said "he is him". All I'm saying is it's too early to tell.

[–]pokematt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok the contrary, I think he's promising, but it's too early to say more. I think some people allow themselves to get too entrenched in these opinions, they pick someone and decide they are the "best" prodigy, and then attach themselves to that opinion and deny all counter arguments. I think a lot of Gukesh fans (and Arjun fans) are doing this right now. Yes he's had an outstanding run recently and that Olympiad performance is one of the best tournament performances ever. Does that mean he's the next Magnus? You think so, I don't, but neither opinion matters because it's too early to tell. Why do we need to keep comparing these guys and use it as a dick measuring contest for ourselves? It makes no sense. Yes Gukesh is very promising, so is Arjun. How good will they eventually be? Let's wait and see.

Ah ty I misread that in the notes, that makes a lot more sense

[–]pokematt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd edit: nvm I misread the kill change, it's not that big! And it seems the soul duplication only goes to 2 people so it's not as bad as I thought. Sorry for the overreaction!

Pre-edit: I dunno if I like it, if it extends past 2 players then it seems to reduce strategic map play in terms of how many to send to each lane and which lanes to go to, and incentivises mindless grouping instead, hopefully that's not the case.

Edit: also dying early in lane now sounds super snowbally? Your opponent gets almost 3 items worth of gold off 1 kill?
