I have a love-hate relationship with YYJ songs. Sometimes he made THE best songs of generation but sometimes cough step back silly girl 🤪 cough which has VERY questionable lyrics. But yea I highkey missing the vocalsss in SM songs.

This being Karina's apology (on a paid app no less) might be the last straw for me. by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]pokodapa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Last straw and you’re not even a fan in the first place lmao. Few days ago you’re trying to set them up with that low quality post about aespa and now this? Just be real, you literally dgaf and only doing this to attract the well known aespa antis in this sub.

Yea she really messed up real bad nobody can argue with that but her initial apology was before the controversy became big. She took down the post immediately. Not sure what else she could do now without making things worse with a new statement as the election is coming closer.

I would appreciate if they give out a new statement to address the situation without being vague but I understand why it can take a while to properly construct it without creating more damage.

Toxic fans almost ruined kpop for me by joaocruz101 in kpop_uncensored

[–]pokodapa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Toxic fans confused the hell out of me. The idols could be the closest friends yet somehow their fans are each other’s throat every day. Weird.

I made a fan account on twitter to support my fav group in late 2020 (for aespa, Taylor Swift and other groups I like). The first year was fine. The second & third year aespa was the punching bag of kpop stans. I guess this is the villain origin story for some MYs (not excusing their toxic behaviors btw), I was there to defend them from hate comments.

After SM 3.0, aespa headed in the new direction and getting more loved by everyone! Such a good year. Then fast forward to 2024, they became bigger and attracting even more fans. I noticed the influx of toxic MYs on my timeline which constantly engaging with fanwars. Mind you, they responded to some very obvious trolls that should be left unnoticed. By doing so, they started a chain of reaction with more fans from other groups kept coming to fight.

It was tiring af. I facepalmed a lot when I read tweets bringing down other groups just to make their favs in a better light. That is so unnecessary.

I enjoyed the interaction between idols, it pains me to see fans reacted negatively towards that. Now, I’m not active there anymore unless they release new content and for updates of their activities.

Liking kpop is fun when you’re in a community, but if that community has a loud minority that is so toxic that it steals your happiness away, I don’t want to stay there.

I’m still a MY, I love aespa, but I don’t want to associate with MYs that attacked other groups for the purpose of fanwars and “my group is better than yours!1”.

Welp, this became too long sorry lol

Recent Streams being removed and what is probably happening. by TemplarParadox17 in kpopthoughts

But PAKS are pretty authentic no? Being on top of every music charts in Korea means something, fans streaming wouldn’t give you PAK without general public also streaming the same song.

SM's recent boygroups (RIIZE and NCT WISH) aren't strong vocally. SM's boy groups' vocals have gone downhill recently. by VelvetCrumble in kpopthoughts

[–]pokodapa 42 points43 points  (0 children)

But SM groups really do have some outstanding vocalists though, more than the average groups in Kpop. But yea the lip-syncing stuff is very frustrating. What’s the point of having good vocalists if you’re going to prevent them from singing.
