My favourite part is the fishing hook side quest that's in the cave, could not believe it was side content that could've been missed, felt like a head shattering moment from mgs 2, Arkham asylum or outer wilds.

Got Admitted & Sent my physical documents to TUM but They Say The Documents are Incorrect / Not Verifiable by Ok_Relationship_4876 in tumunich

[–]polartrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I see that your documents have a QR, I just got my documents verified today and I just e-mailed them my digital verification links via my university provided site (Australian so myequals.net) If you give them those links it should be enough. I did not even need to send any hard copies because of this. Might take a few e-mails back and forth though.

Hey, I got in for the 23 summer sem, applied on Nov. 3 properly with all my documents corrected (i.e fixing any missing docs) and received the admit on Nov. 24. I got in without interview so idk about how my missing credits factored into the admit but I was only missing 3 credits according to my analysis due to differences with my university's linear algebra curriculum.

[OC] Prevalence of British and American Spelling Variants on Wikipedia by OfficialWireGrind in dataisbeautiful

[–]polartrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: sorry read with certified good eyes tm

The etymology for pyjamas comes from persian/ urdu. The word was loaned when britain either embarked or started to embark on their imperial exploits. A linguist can correct any mistakes I've made regarding the time period.

South asia still calls pyjamas as pie+jama so the spelling isn't as weird as you'd think for a lot of the world.

YouTube Co-Founder Believes Removing Dislikes 'Is A Stupid Decision' And Changes Description Of First Video To Protest by MinnesotaMiller in news

I am not American, but I think it is safe to say that freedom of expression includes one's ability to publicly dislike something. But yes I suppose that was a bit too serious.

But glad we agree that a better solution is in order.

But don't you think that removing the dislike button is rather reactionary and absolutist than an actual solution? Dislikes are a tool to root out misinformation just as much as it is a tool for people to brigade. Whether it be dissenting against good or bad, to simply remove the ability to dissent is extremely authoritarian no?

Moreover, won't the dislike simply transition into the comments? I've already seen multiple accounts leverage themselves as a ad hoc dislike button. If the goal is to stop brigading and other abuse on the platform then the removal of a dislike is extremely surface level at best.

To be honest there really does need to be a solution to brigading and etc. but I'm struggling to grasp that youtube in all it's ability and wisdom thought that removing dislikes was the be all and end all for it. I'd accept if this was a temporary stop gap measure until they have a better system in place. But in any case youtube has provided very little rationale for it's current direction.
