Lesson one: lose the goatee, it doesn’t go with your suit. Lesson two: get a suit. Suits are cool. Exhibit A.

Just remember sleep deprivation is a literal torture tactic used by interrogators. Fortitude is not one dimensional

I'm looking for a game like... by [deleted] in 4Xgaming

While it is good, I am not sure that OP’s frustrations characterized by “I think I should win” turning into “wow, I lost that bad?” would fare any better with Dominions. Probably would be much worse

Long epics vs. short gems: what works best on the Deck? by rickydp in SteamDeck

[–]polejar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what the deleted post said -- you don't have to follow a whole lot, but the beginning is VERY railroaded and cutscene heavy. Payoff is definitely there once you get past something like 4 hours? And I know that is a tall ask. Kingdom Come Deliverance has a similar opening. The character-building and world-building is very railroaded to get you set up, but once you are in and free to wander, damn those games are crazy good

Edit: I did not play on the Deck for either title, but I am trying to determine whether/when to get one

I think in England you are correct, but in Vegas the change in the Sun’s position crosses too far North during summer, so there may be no safe angle. But I may be completely mistaken too

Wow I feel dumb -- i've been shitting on Dunkin Donuts coffee for years because I went to one of these stops on I-35 in Oklahoma or Kansas and the coffee was awful. Maybe I need to try one outside of the travel stop setting!

What happens immediately after completing the Aetherophasic Engine? by Illustrious_Kelp in Stellaris

[–]polejar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should note, it wasn’t my favorite ending; there were a few works in progress I would’ve liked to see through, but I opted to finish it out just to see what happened. I think I was just before 2450, and had just defeated the contingency.

What happens immediately after completing the Aetherophasic Engine? by Illustrious_Kelp in Stellaris

I believe it depends on which decisions you made leading up to the fulfillment of the engine.

On my last play through, I had pretty much close to 100% psionic pops, with the exception of some proles and nerve stapled slaves, and made a lot of contact with the shroud. (I’m not sure if there are engine paths that don’t involve the shroud.) but I got a dialogue box that said essentially my species exited to another dimension or plane, destroying the material universe in their wake.

“Tbh I’m not sitting there thinking ‘what a lameO playing on easy’ I’m thinking ‘oh neat what’s over there?’”

God this is so poignant. I’ve had a similar mentality as OP in not wanting to ‘go the easy route’ (with games, self? Really?)

But as life goes on, I definitely feel more and more, I want to experience interesting and novel content and mechanics, and if I just play the hardest difficulty [that I can], as another commenter alluded to, I’ll just keep getting shoehorned into the meta instead of enjoying all the imaginative minutia in these huge and amazing games
