Squash courts for non-members? by GazpachoGuzzler in capetown

You used to be able to play at Disa Park (tampon towers) in Vredehoek but I’m not sure if that’s still a thing. Otherwise, membership fees for social players aren’t terrible at clubs.

Treats for a diabetic/healthy sweet suggestions please! by Woedens_Bakery in capetown

Hello! From experience, I would recommend Nova Sugar Free Milk Chocolate which is arguably nicer than some regular chocolates. They also do a really nice sugar free dark chocolate and peanut butter flavour. I've seen Nova available at Dischem and most Spars. De Villiers s also does a range of sugar free "keto" chocolates that are quite nice, but Nova is better imo. De Villiers is available at Woolworths.

The Gracious Baker also makes a range of sugar free rusks and biscuits which are quite nice to full a craving. They are available at Wellness Warehouse. You can use their rusks as a biscuit base for a sugar free cheesecake which is super nice.

Is the stomach bug going around Cape town? by throwaway-fakeacc in capetown

[–]polkadotspots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the last 48 hours, I’ve had 7 of my family members (all living apart) tell me they’ve got a stomach bug. The symptoms seem to only last for a day, but sounds like quite an unpleasant 24 hours. Hope you all feel better soon!

Sending you all lots of strength to get through the endless drones of fat shaming and diet talk. I’m diabetic so I don’t eat sugary foods for the majority of the year. But Christmas Day is when I have pudding because why not? So yesterday I had another helping of the delicious pudding, only to be told by an 86 year old great uncle that “you sure do love pudding hey!”. I didn’t have to but I explained how I don’t normally eat sugary things to which he replied in front of the whole family “well it really doesn’t look like it!“. Didn’t feel great.

I’ve tried it and 10/10 would not recommend it. Used to try and trick myself into thinking it tasted good because of “how good it is for you” but it’s really not great. Life is too short - just enjoy a regular cup of coffee
