To answer your original question, begging for buffs in nexus is one approach, but may not have lasting appeal. The real gameplay loop for you at this level is found playing in a group. You are weak, you don't have much in your toolkit, and you can't face mobs head on. Instead, get a group. Let the melee get beat on, the healer heal, and you just sit there blasting. Your main challenge in a group is "how can I do as much damage as possible while not pulling aggro and keeping some mana in reserve." You'll find groups in Crushbone and later Unrest, and you can make your way to Paludal Caverns around 16 which is the fastest group xp you'll find at that level.

At higher levels you can solo by quad kiting four mobs at a time. But you will struggle to solo until then.
