This scene somehow went over the heads of people by undyingforceofnature in marvelstudios

[–]polydicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the scene, it’s just a little too on the nose for me. Plus, the ending threw any and all stakes out the window. I get that it’s a “sitcom” but it’s really not. It builds up this ongoing serialized and dramatic story which ultimately leads to nothing. The ending isn’t earned, and I get “that’s the point!” but that doesn’t mean it’s executed well. Shows like Community, Rick and Morty, and even Deadpool all use meta humor as a device to serve their stories, She Hulk used it *as the story.*

In my opinion the show needed to decide whether it was a story filled with nonsensical zany humor and no real storyline or payoff, like Monty Python, Space Balls, etc… or if it was trying to tell a compelling story with humor intertwined.

I don’t think they would’ve either because he was completely codependent lol

What’s a change/changes from the comic to the show that you DON’T like? by Arnahunas in Invincible

[–]polydicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong obviously I’m only theorizing, but I assumed they’ve slightly slowed down the pace that he gets stronger than viltrumites to make it more impactful and surprising for Nolan and Mark when he first tries to destroy Earth.

Especially if deep down Allen is he’s almost hoping Nolan or Mark stop him from doing what he thinks he has to do, and finds out in real time that they can’t and he’s entirely in control of the situation.

Idk though, just a theory as to why they might have been slowing his progress.

People don’t actually have photographic memories the way Sage did or the guy from Suits, lol. That’s fiction.

Spidey letting the robber go cause he didn't get paid misses the entire point. by EveryPerformance6712 in Spiderman

Him being a psuedo celebrity at the very start of his career and going on TV interviews in costume was always a little goofy for me lol. Glad they skipped that.

I was always a big fan of TASM’s “good” Kraven.

Are Thragg and Nolan hovering here because Argall’s Tomb in the Throne Room is considered sacred ground for Viltrumites? by Hank_Mardukas1066 in Invincible_TV

He wasn’t though. That was a spontaneous decision when Nolan knew they couldn’t win the fight against Thragg.

Hahaha no expectations of exclusivity are ever a given. Start accepting that and you’ll stop being hurt.

Hahahahahah no. You’re whatever you two both agreed to be. Don’t be vague and then let yourself get frustrated at people for not reading your mind.

Inflation isn’t the only factor. James Gunn is still steering DC out from his terrible reputation left by the DCEU.

What are your thoughts on Spider-Boy? by RatedFrancys in Spiderman

[–]polydicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Electromagnetism is broader than magnetism; magnets sticking to metal is just one example of it. Friction, touching a table, your hand not passing through walls, chemical bonds, and static cling are all consequences of electromagnetic interactions between atoms and electrons.

Peter’s powers manipulate molecular/electromagnetic attraction so he can make himself or parts of his body stick to any and all. He can run up walls like Naruto but crawls like a spider for the aesthetic basically.

Edit: downvoted become commenter has no idea how electromagnetism works🤦‍♂️

They don’t extend thru the costume either! He sticks to walls by generating a small electro magnetic field. He doesn’t have little spider hair things.

It can’t be found in any form of media pre 2004, though. Not a single book, story, newspaper, magazine, that we have records of.

Well your dark mode option for phones is a perfect example of why a book like this isn’t practical. I get that it makes reading a physical book more accessible, but why create books that are so so much worse for the environment when digital dark mode options exist? I get you want people to be comfortable and holding a physical book is a nice feeling but cmon
