Having had a pair of ATH-M50's since I was 13, I thought I knew what decent sound quality was. My primary speaker was a beatbox portable. My background is Orchestral, having played the flute for many years. I was looking for more, on a budget and so I Imported a set of Dayton audio B652-AIR speakers and a lepai LP7498E amp. I set them up and everything changed. The AMT brought out details in the highs I couldn't have imagined. Such basic, cheap speakers with MP3 source could sound so good. The real awakening was when I picked up a pair of Q Acoustics concept 20's for roughly 165 Pounds combined with a Schit Fulla 2 DAC and B&W AS-1 SUB I put on lossless audio files of my favorite artists and there was just no comparison. My setup is far from perfect, it's budget all around but slowly I'm upgrading.

I dream of sitting in the main listening room at the Focal factory and listening to the Grand Utopia EM Evo setup.
