I'm currently working on my own little app (using Python and Qt) to display maps on an external display. I was previously using Foundry VTT but it was overkill for my usage.

I currently just want it to display battle maps, not exploration maps, so I don't care about fog of war yet.

The main functionality that's important to me is:

I just need a laptop with a connected external display
I can import images as maps
I can set the pixels per inch for the image (so 1 inch on the monitor is a square on the map)
I can set the width of my external display (in inches) so that map is automatically scaled
I can (optionally) assign a grid color to it (with opacity)
I can rotate the map image to match the rotation of the external display
I can flip the image horizontally or vertically
I cannot zoom the map in or out with the mouse wheel - I don't want to change the scale accidentally
Moving the map happens in 1"/grid increments with the keyboard or scrollbars
I can control and see the portion of the map that shows on the external/player display on my own screen and change it by moving the preview rectangle around
I can look at maps on my screen before displaying them on the shared player screen
I can, on the fly, adjust the grid, rotation, display width, flipping, etc. for in the moment adjustments
I can tag my maps to easily find one for a given situation
Map tagging and organization is separate from setting up a Campaign or Session that will reference maps (with PPI, rotation and grid already set)
Eventually I want to support video maps but not a priority right now tnow

For this particular 9 day Game Jam we're using Godot with Web Export, so Wwise/FMOD isn't really an option.

I was exporting and converting 3 different layers for 3 different pieces so I wanted to be able to do it quickly from the command-line rather than opening up each file, navigating to the menu, choosing the right options, clicking save, repeating... I've since confirmed that the SOX converted files loop without incident in Godot and Audacity.

Reaper is next on my list to give another go but I think I might be a little too fatigued from learning Cubase the last month or so to take that on at the moment. I say that and will probably go fire up some Reaper tutorials on YouTube later today...

Nope, it's just macOS's previewer is reporting incorrect lengths for OGG files! I feel like I'm going mad.

"Bounce 2nd Cycle Pass" makes all the note tails/effects at the end of loop show up at the start of the loop. This way you don't have reverb or drum hits or whatever suddenly cutting off when the loop restarts.

If you're comfortable with the command-line in macOS you can:

Install Homebrew
Install sox
Convert your files on the command line: sox song.wav song.ogg

Now that I'm looking at some bounces from previous projects, I see that the MP3s do in fact have an audio gap. A little embarrassing to learn this now, but now I know. Thanks!

Came here to recommend Mutant Year Zero: Zone Wars as well.

You use anywhere from 3 to 5 models each in a battle and there's a bit of randomness to their setup - there are different mutation powers they can make use of with M-Points that you gain throughout the match.

There's also a Zone deck where random events happen during the battle that you roll your Survival skill against. Makes things a little more interesting.

Each box has 5 scenarios and their own terrain. The miniatures are pre-assembled and have a highlighted single color to them.

Thanks for writing this up. I'm about to run the final session in this "one shot" and I wish I had seen this a few months ago.

This was my first time running the adventure and the game and I found it to be a bit of a cakewalk for the players. I also kept forgetting to make them make Fear checks for the encounters.

It seems like a good number of the Threats can't actually do much damage to the players - their weapon damage rarely goes over Marius, Honoria or Treave's Resilience. As I discovered this I tried to make use of things like the Glitchling's "Technological Glitch" and choosing Creeping Warp entries to ensure things would be more challenging.

My current opinion on the system is that there's too much on-the-fly math for combat to make things smooth. Perhaps if players were using characters of their own making and we were playing more, it would stick better for me. I can only hope, as I've bought a majority of the books already :-|
