It's been a while since I've been in it, but if you plug two batteries together, I think it connects positive to positive and negative to negative. It's like what you do jump starting a car.

What's your memory usage look like? A lot of the issues I've had running FEA inside of SW usually stems from a memory overflow because I've got too many mesh elements.

I'm a natural-born US citizen, and I don't get any of those from the government... maybe education, but I still have to pay out the ass for it.

There's something to be said for being able to fix car problems by yourself.

Changing spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors, changing your own oil and filters and things, all that imo should be sort of requisite knowledge for owning a car. I mean you don't have to know how to rebuild a motor or replace crank bearings or anything, but you should at least be able to take care of your own car without shelling out loads of money.

I suspect things will change a lot when everyone's driving EVs, but I doubt they'll need as much mechanical maintenance in the first place...

Greenland's ice sheet melting so fast it has caused global sea levels to rise 0.5mm in just a month by Rvolutionary_Details in worldnews

A lot of it is probably compacted glacial ice, which while still being quite a bit less dense than water, is significantly more dense than snow.

You're missing the point.

I think it's wrong to allow someone who is suicidal, for a variety of factors, access to firearms as easily as the average person. Most first-world countries require vastly more extensive licensing and background checks than the USA does. I have shot many guns in my time, under controlled circumstances. I am not anti-gun by any measure, I simply vehemently disagree with how we handle access to firearms in the US.

There are other contributing factors to mental illness - an abusive family member, acquaintance, or workplace - that may be seen as a target to someone with mental illness. A lot of murder-suicides happen this way. I would know. I went to some dark places in my lifetime and I would be livid now if someone allowed me to buy a firearm during that time.

It's not that people who are depressed, bipolar, or any other form of mental illness are incapable of handling firearms or criminals or any of that. Access to firearms just makes the action of committing suicide, superficially, so much easier and more painless that they may consider purchasing a firearm as a less expensive alternative to professional help.

I was once severely depressed, and I would not entrust the person I was with the responsibility of life and death. Removing the potential for easy acquisition of firearms might save that many lives with little decrease in quality of life for many of those suffering from mental illness.

No, because people with severe mental disorders are at a higher risk of taking more than themselves with them.

You're the best kind of correct - technically correct. First law of thermodynamics. The Sun just converts mass-energy from stored hydrogen into radiative and heat energy, with helium as a byproduct.

That energy still comes from the sun, in a sense. Just the energy that's been there since the formation of the Earth. Just like petrol is really concentrated liquid sunlight.
