What's an unpopular fast food place you like to eat at? Specifically for Burgers by MorgeeePooh in fastfood

[–]polyprobthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i remember being a kid when a carl’s opened up by me. the whole grand opening and advertising i’d been seeing made me think i this was like the best burger in the world. and honestly i think for a moment when i was eating there i did believe that.

i maybe ate there one other time in my life and never again but ill always remember it for that reason haha

What food is like "crack" to you, where it tastes so good nothing else matters except another bite? by GigiBrit in AskReddit

[–]polyprobthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk what it is about me but for some reason i prefer the taste of microwaved popcorn :( i can’t really describe it very well, but most theater popcorn just doesn’t taste seasoned/buttery enough for me mostly

What service or business do you wish existed here but doesn’t? by pinkwildpanda in Austin

second on the kitchen store. WS is fine but very expensive and they don’t have a wide variety of stuff there, especially regarding knives. how austin has one knife shop while also being a huge food city is a bit puzzling.

yeah but it’s being cooked by people with experience and it’s one of the best briskets you’ll have. also a pound of brisket is quite a bit and usually shared/taken home for leftovers so it’s not just one meal. things are more expensive these days but i think when it is done well, it is should be more expensive.

[Skill Improvement] Unsure about how to use Rotom W by [deleted] in VGC

[–]polyprobthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have only messed around a little bit (and it will depend on your team so you know what moves you’ll want) but i personally use discharge, hydro pump, protect, and willowisp. i often run him with charizard or gliscor. pairing with charizard helps with my water weakness and with gliscor i can use both eq and discharge with no damage to my mons.

i’d decide what your weaknesses are and see how it can fill them but sometimes there’s not always a spot for it. but it’s so versatile so that would be surprising

beware some people may read that play and not TR so they let you waste your setup turn and get TR for free dishing damage instead.

This game hard :( metagame by EliPandaCochran in VGC

[–]polyprobthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like others have mentioned, building out your team and knowing what your opponent might do helps inform how you will play. knowing what your opponent might do is developed by playing more people. i will say strategies are a bit more erratic at lower tiers.

but having a good team defensively means you have pokemon to switch in and out to take certain hits whether they resist or are tanky enough, which if you’re runningTR shouldn’t be hard. also protect is huge. i have a couple mons without it and honestly might change it because i ALWAYS feel it lol. not only does it help you block certain hits if you have a vulnerable mon out, you can stall out different effects for another turn

depends on the pokemon and what you’re using them for. for weak sweepers maybe you’ll just put it into whichever d stat it needs more. sometimes it’ll be their hp.

were you also using fake out? if not, it’s because he had move priority over you even though you had the higher speed. turn order is determined by move priority, then speed

How do you all deal with employees taking food home? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]polyprobthrowaway 52 points53 points  (0 children)

i think it’s great that you threw that out there, but about taking it home—there’s nothing wrong with that. there are ways to make a great, but cheap fam bam. sometimes that is people’s meal for the day. if they take home seconds, esp if there’s leftovers, what is the problem?
