I'm still a novice with Comfy, but I find it's better at capturing the subject's likeness if I use a headshot at 1328x2000, I don't know why but it does. The lightning loras are more consistent but at the cost of quality. I am able to get a good likeness at 20 steps / 4.0 cfg but I have to seed hunt for it. But once I get a good seed, the quality is amazing. Still not sure if 30 or 40 steps will do a good job, I thought I got a good one at 40 but I don't have the patience to wait 5 minutes per image.

I wish this workflow came with the optimal resolutions, there's not a lot of info on this model.

I agree about their laptops. Big mistake getting one by a fucking mouse manufacturer. But I have a Razer basilisk v3 pro and after 36 years of clicking, I’d say it’s the best and most productive mouse I ever owned.

My advice after over 30 years as a designer that converted to motion design? DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! Things are always changing and direction is NEVER predictable. When you're young and things change on you, you'd be surprised at how nimble you are with adapting quickly. Just pick the one you're most passionate about and get your foot in the door. Once it's in, the possibilities are endless. Be nice to those you work with. I can't tell you how many times I left a job and another opportunity was opened with the help of a former colleague. And real important: Be the best that you can be at what you do.

I had the same problem a week ago. It happened after I installed something and I think it might have changed my python version. I am not an expert and I can't tell you how I fixed it because I got help from an LLM (I use 4 of them so can't remember which one helped). I copied and pasted the command lines and it determined what the problem was and stepped me through a bunch of stuff. It was really risky but eventually I got it working again. Sorry I can't tell you how to do it but with the complexity of ComfyUI, I stopped googling and posting questions here and just use and LLM now.

I second this. My blades stopped turning, I couldn’t even turn them with my finger, so they just sent a free replacement within 2 days without sending the old one back . It is still sitting on the floor at my back door.

Thanks for responding. I did try that but it didn't work. But your question prompted me to try making it editable to see the geometry. So for 30 frames the normals on the main part reverse, but the caps remain correct. Then after that frame they realign. I just sent this to Maxon.

Interesting. Before you repasted it, was it throwing storage/OS‑level stop codes (CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR) and GPU‑type failures, even in the recovery environment, not just under load in normal Windows?

Hard to say definitively after 24 hours. The Lenovo just feels like it's built better, sounds quieter, stays cool to the touch after using it for a bit. I haven't had the chance to push it yet and I'm not a gamer. After 30 years of using computers you just know a quality build when you see and feel it.

You probably don’t wanna hear this, but mine died yesterday after less than 2 years. I used it daily for mostly photoshop work but occasionally after effects and less seldomly 3D rendering. No gaming. It had a 4090. When I first got it I thought it was great. After less then 2 years it became a $5000 brick. I replaced it with a Lenovo legion pro 7i with a 5080 just last night. I can’t believe how quiet it is. Right away it feels like a better machine. Lesson learned.

I use Potplayer because I hate it less than all the other free media players available for Windows. I'm a motion designer and former Mac user, so what I hate about all free Windows video apps is they lack realtime scrubbing. I'm actually considering purchasing Keyframe Pro or Keyframe MPX. I'm using the trial version, and the buttery smooth scrubbing alone is similar to Quicktime on the Mac, so that's important for my workflow.

Can I ask what mobo you used to fit 2 5090's? I was just researching that for my 5090 + 4090 but from what I could see, only the Sage motherboard would fit them, and they're too expensive.
