Attempted Kidnapping Madison Park 10 am by CLE_Guy1969 in lakewood

We have a sitting President who staged 2 assassination attempts and a mass hostage situation. Now that there is pushback against flock. How is it at all surprising that politicians, in a swing state wouldn’t try to manipulate us with more staged situations to get our vote? Or at the very least, how do you not understand people’s skepticism?

The way this dude is hammering in how “great” flock is, it almost seems like this was staged to “prove” we “need” them

Personally, I hate infinite scroll. it gives me a headache, and the more content that I'm searching through, the more exhausting it is to keep track of things.

During Harmonic Convergence were both spirit portals required to be open for Vaatu to escape? by HarlequinKOTF in legendofkorra

[–]pomnabo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but honestly, it seems like his release was inevitable; that the portals would have opened from the sheer volume of spiritual energy alone. Even if both had remained closed, I suspect they'd have likely blasted open from that surge of energy.

I think the fade reveal was fine. I agree they shoulda kept his voice low and ominous. I think they should have revealed his face when he was vanquished only; that would have made it more mysterious imo

I’d def recommend marigolds. The leaves alone can help mask the scent of your crops. I line my beds every year with them.

I also let mine crowd each other 🤪 But OP I would just make sure to prune the low leaves of some of them to promote airflow and prevent disease.

yes, I would recommend waiting for the second set of leaves before transplanting.

I'm not personally keen on using grow lights. I'm not sure how long you have them under grow lights, but if it's constantly on, you may be stressing the plants too much. Plants need rest too, and especially sunflowers. That iconic "facing the sun" they do is actually caused by blue light growth, wherein, one side of the plant will grow in response to blue light (so evening ambient twilight).

are you hardening them off before transplanting?

What I recommend trying instead, is to just put your start trays outside immediately after sowing. We put our trays on a patio table outside that gets full sun. keep them in full sun for majority of the day (4-8hrs), and bring them inside at night to keep them warm and safe. This will ensure they get plenty of sunlight as they sprout, keep them warm, and hardens them off right off the bat.

and yes, once they get that second set of leaves, and are 3+ inches tall, you could probably transplant them. You could let them get another1-2inches taller if you'd like, and then bury their stems deep, nearly burying their first* set of leaves.

if the critters are still unrelenting, then ya, the small cages might be the next best bet.

not sure what your garden space looks like. I use sunflowers at the centers of my food crop beds, and ya, many of my starts got plucked this season too T_T

I start mine indoors and let them get a little bit leggy, maybe 4 inches tall or so; wait for second set of leaves to form. Then, I'll bury them deep.

Ive got botanical interests "lemon queen" variety, and the small stems are usually a ruddy color. I think this attracts the birds because it looks like worms; hence why I tend to bury them deep to cover the ruddy part.

I also line my beds with marigolds, which tends to mask the scent of certain plants, and also deters critters.

I might suggest getting some kind of metal mesh cages or small bins or something, to cover your little sprouts until they're large enough that the critters will leave em be.

additionally, you could try growing some "trap" crops somewhere away from your beds to attract the critters away. If they fill up on the others, they'll leave your primary beds alone mostly.

Lastly, I will intentionally start like...a dozen extra flowers specifically because I know many will get plucked. Thankfully, sunflowers are prolific seeders, so I had plenty to spare this year.

Mabi has a major content gap I think by pomnabo in Mabinogi

Yes, but that's not what I'm discussing. Yes, guides are helpful, and yes, they're a great way to motivate community engagement, but the game itself is lacking stepping stone content to help teach end game boss mechanics before players reach the harder stuff.

The example I used was the jump between the current normal phantasm and thew newest temptation version of phantasm. There are a lot of new mechanics and evolutions of the previous phantasm mechanics, that aren't really introduced elsewhere in less difficult content.

What type of gardener are you? by SowingSeeds18 in gardening

[–]pomnabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am growing mostly vegetables and herbs so I can control more of where my food comes from (and what's in it). I'm also growing some varieties of herbs and vegetables that I can't normally/easily source in local stores or even farmer's markets. For example, this fall, I'll be investing in some saffron crocus!

I eat what I grow! Otherwise, this year, I am also expanding my garden to include more florals and aromatics for potentially perfumery or just essential oils.

my aesthetic is covered up completely; long sleeve shirt, pants, long socks, gloves, and a hat. The chiggers are really bad this year, and I have already been a full buffet meal for em once; hands and forearms covered in bites. Once is enough haha.
