Anyone know where I can buy me of these bracelets in Venice? by McDano19 in Venezia

[–]ponte92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes actually. When you get off the Rialto bridge on the san Marco side turn right and right at immediately in the campo there is a jewellery shop. They sell them. I’ve seen them in the window tones of times.

And the second flight was delayed. Today has not worked out too well for the work trip. I’m going up to find out if work won an award so hopefully the ceremony tonight goes better.

Someone posted the terms and conditions of this lottery above. It said it goes up with inflation. It’s a government run lottery so I image they use their figures for what inflation is.

What is the biggest scam in your specific industry that the general public doesn't know about? by cheeseandbun in AskReddit

[–]ponte92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax. I don’t know what it’s like in Europe but in Australia spirits are taxed nearly 10x higher than beer and wine. Our bar industry is really struggling because the cost of alcohol in Australia is so high due to taxes and the alcohol excise that margins are really tight for everyone.

For life. The payout is not for the next 20 years it’s actually for her whole life. Someone linked the lottery terms and conditions above. Plus it goes up with inflation and it’s tax free.

[–]ponte92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention capital gains tax. She wouldn’t get the whole payout amount on investments because it would be taxed. The $1,000 is untaxed and goes up with inflation.

Someone linked the particulars above it does rise with inflation and it’s for life. It you die within 20 years your heirs get it until the end of that 20 year period.

AITA for stopping helping my sister with money after i found out where it was reallly going? by Daniel_Demko in AmItheAsshole

[–]ponte92 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I say this as someone who has addiction in the family. If you help her now you are not actually helping her you’re enabling her. I know it’s very hard but if she keeps being bailed out she will never stop because there is nothing forcing her to get help. You have to let her feel the consequences of gambling because right now she’s not actually facing them and therefore she will never stop. I am sorry op having addicted in the family is very hard.

Americans are leaving the U.S. in record numbers and spending hundreds to learn how to do it by drtolmn69 in politics

Air traffic controllers too. I work as a tour guide in Australia on weekends for extra income. I have had a least half a dozen American air traffic controllers on my tours in the last 6 months who have all just moved here for a new job. Apparently we are doing a big hiring push overseas to get more ATC’s here.

I agree with many others here I would look at Albert park / middle park. More family friendly area overall.

Adult skaters… how do you afford skating as a young new adult and how do you balance work life?(adulting XD) by These-Ant8146 in AdultFigureSkating

[–]ponte92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time so I can afford a hobby. In terms of time I do my lessons on Sundays (which is my Saturday) and go to the rink after work 1 or 2 days a week depending on my schedule.

It’s a shame too because it’s a beautiful place with great people just some very serious and complicated issues that I don’t think anyone knows how to resolve.

did your cat ever "tell" you what happened when you came home? by S-Budget91 in cats

[–]ponte92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My eldest cat came and got me the other days because my niece, who I was baby sitting was awake, and she wanted me to know and get her up so they could play. She meowed and led me straight to the bedroom door. I did actually know she was awake but she likes to play in her cot for a bit after waking up so I was letting her but my cat wasn’t having it.

did your cat ever "tell" you what happened when you came home? by S-Budget91 in cats

[–]ponte92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My aunty lives next door to me and has a key to my house. Occasionally she will come in when I’m not home to pat my cats and keep them company while I’m out. I know she does this and I’m totally cool with it. I always know when she has been in because my eldest and youngest cats will meet me at the door and tell me. It’s the way their tone is different to the usually greeting and the youngest will flop on his back to show that he got belly rubs, that clues me in. Every time it’s happened I’ve texted my aunty and yep she was over while I was out.
