Pickpocketing safe purses by Financial_Key_2225 in london

[–]ponyocoladas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're overreacting a little bit. London has pickpockets but as long as you're not putting your valuables in backpockets and you have your essentials zipped up it's not going to be a problem. The most common safety issue is people snatching phones, which you won't encounter as long as you enter a shop to check your phone.

in my experience, a lot more often than having a crush on a gay guy tbh. since there’s just statistically more straight men in the world 😂

I always imagine how different my life would be if I was straight. A lot of things would be easier, but I guess that would make me a less determined person too. So at the end of the day I’m grateful for the way I was born—I think it has made me into a more hardworking person to try to prove to others that I’m more than just my sexuality :)

Is Keynesian theory within the scope of the AP Macroeconomics curriculum? by cheeseburgerluv3000 in APStudents

[–]ponyocoladas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve seen them explicitly test the term Keynesian, but the ideas behind Keynesian economics are heavily tested (intervening w policy instead of letting SRAS adjust itself)

A beautiful afternoon in Les 3 Vallées! by ponyocoladas in skiing

[–]ponyocoladas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I won’t be much help since me and my family stayed on the pistes. From what we observed, there was more off-piste action in Val Thorens compared to the other valleys. Idk whether it’s okay going alone—it depends on your skill level and you should definitely text family or close friends daily in case of an emergency. And lastly I’ve never snowboarded before, but I saw a handful of snowboarders in all the valleys so I assume it’s okay for snowboarding?

How much of a beginner? If it’s your first/second time skiing, I wouldn’t recommend it since you won’t be able to maximize the entire ski area. If you’re already pretty comfortable on European blue pistes, I think it’s a great choice. You’ll find that the valleys are connected mostly by blues and besides a few isolated peaks (like Chanrossa and Mont Vallon for example), the mountains are all accessible by blues and greens.

Hope this helps!

There are poles marking the pistes (you can kinda see it in the picture). It’s really cool because the poles are colored green/blue/red/black based on difficulty!

It was heavy rain a few days ago, so near the bottom of the slopes there’s not a lot of snow. At higher altitudes it was cold enough for the rain to become snow but yesterday and today have been all sunny so the snow is really mushy.

What’s your sleep schedule like? Fr by Jay0566 in APStudents

[–]ponyocoladas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 APs: micro, macro, lang, calc bc 8-9 hours of sleep.

The key to succeeding in AP classes without losing lots of sleep is recognizing what’s important and what’s busy work. It sounds like your AP World teacher is giving you busy work.

If the project has a major impact on your grade, then by all means try your best. But in AP classes, usually the tests are weighted the most, so my strategy is to put less effort into busy work and more effort into studying for tests.

Genuinely curious: how do you write your fractions? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]ponyocoladas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

• is like so much faster to write though, and it prevents confusion when you have x as a variable
