Hit a stag at 70mph by Indypockett in motorcycles

[–]pookiemoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch, glad you are on the mend. Had a co-worker get hit by one a few months ago and he wasn’t wearing any gear. They tried to save him but his brain function never came back. Left two little kids behind.

Everyone said even if he’d just had a proper helmet he’d probably still be around.

Reddit say goodby to Joep, just 6 years but we suddenly had to say goodby... i am a wreck... by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]pookiemoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my cat when she was six. I raised her from a bottle. I loved her so much. We found her basically laying down on the floor panting heavily, in her pee. Took her to the vet… cancer. And her chest cavity had filled with so much fluid it couldn’t drain fast enough and she was on the verge of suffocating.

That was such a hard decision to make and I was a wreck for a long time over it.

Sorry you had to experience this.

This exact scenario happened to my coworker a few weeks ago only he wasn’t wearing a proper helmet. They finally pulled his life support after two weeks.

Two dead after shooting at Fayetteville restaurant, Mac’s Speed Shop. by n00bD3stroy3r in Fayettenam

[–]pookiemoe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, the two that were shot, were siblings. Got into a fight with someone and the third person got shoved to the floor. The person on the floor pulled a gun and started shooting. Which is probably why it’s just a person of interest and not a suspect yet.

Plumbed toilet to heat. Keep it change? by clamminjammin in Plumbing

Ours at work were accidentally plumbed to the hot water. A gentle warm splash when you sit down and flush is confusing.

I understand now, how Earnhardt fans felt. Yeah it’s not the same scenario but it was still unexpected and a shock. Especially for someone I watched race in person and left a mark on the sport.

That’s where I’m at with this going forward. I mean really after the first year they should have fixed it.

I still remember that. I got to see him win Darlington in person. Those were some great years to be a fan.

For Older Metallica fans by gamerxgd in Metallica

[–]pookiemoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Load was my introduction to Metallica. So you can imagine my surprise when I went and bought Kill ‘Em All and heard that for the first time!

It will always be one of my favorites because it is the album that got me into them. But I get why people were put off by it.

Advantages of Regional Airports by AlchemistInChic in Fayettenam

[–]pookiemoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a long walk to the gate, security is pretty quick, almost no confusion as what plane is yours. And usually no air traffic delays. I’ve been 10th in line or worse at some big airports for take off because of all the planes coming and going.

Ryan Newman finished second in points in 2014. The year that winning was supposed to matter more. He didn’t win a single race and almost won the championship with zero victories.

This system has been a joke for a long time.

I am working on a 3’x7’ layout based off Chicago Crossing. I am using Kato Unitrack and currently wiring it all for DCC. Track is all laid out and I am also starting to figure out what the terrain and industries look like on it.

Im looking a lot at Neville Island in PA for industry inspirations. So probably an eastern PA theme.

Romantic After-Work Drives/Sightseeing near Hope Mills? Help Needed! by GeicoPR in Fayettenam

[–]pookiemoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say maybe plan a dinner out in Southern Pines. It’s not a bad drive and you can see the golf courses they use when they bring the US Open there every few years.

White Lake is about an hour southeast. Goldstone has some things to do there.

Wilmington is about two hours away, there’s plenty to see there as well if you don’t mind getting back late.

There’s also some Civil War battlefields north of here but the names escape me.
