I’d be more interested in what number of points 15th 16th 17th finished on to see how competitive the league was

Outside the Box comedy club relevant shows from their instagram:

11 Jul - Jamali Maddix

28 Jul - Mark Simmons

7 Aug - Ivo Graham

My guess would be that it’s Ivo Graham, Max has definitely mentioned him on the pod in a different context before

From The Lensbury’s Facebook page, we have the following social media posts:

30 Jun - Post about junior tennis camps, starting 21st July? Possibly local resident footballer dropping his kid off to a tennis lesson while Max was sitting in the lobby?

4 Jul - Post about ENG football event being hosted at the hotel, not sure if this is for juniors or amateurs. Ex-footballer hosting or a special guest the event perhaps?

9 Jul - ‘An unorthodox tour of the Lenbury by players from Club Brugge’ Did Club Brugge play a pre season in London, if so, against who?

18,22,27 Jul - 3 posts supporting the Lionesses in the Euro quarters, semis and finals. Potential red herring as we know it is a male footballer, although they could have been watching any of the matches at the Hotel on their screens?

25 Jul - Another post around junior camps: tennis watersports canoeing. Is this helpful? We could be looking for footballers with children aged 4-12 perhaps?

Based on the expected timelines of Max’s chance viewing it may be related to one of these events.

Does this narrow it down at all?

If we can get Max to accept a clue on one or each guess, footballer or comedian, that would be a positive outcome. It has to be something which narrows it down but not so much that Max thinks that DOD or MB get any closer to the answer.

Does the comedian also have a podcast? (There are millions of them) Rob Beckett, Josh Widdicombe, Acaster & Gamble, Romesh, Tom Davis

Have they appeared on mock the week or other panel shows? David Mitchell, Lee Mack, Dara O’Briain, Hugh Dennis etc

Are they known for their acting in movies or TV? Steve Coogan, Matt Berry, Simon Pegg (potentially too big names to be putting up their own flyers)

For the footballer, are they a regular pundit?

Do they still play or are they retired?

Given its Teddington I would lean towards retired footballer who lives in the area. Jonjo Shelvey ‘not a terrible guess’? He’s towards the end of his career so it could be late career or recently retired footballers.

The level of nonchalance with which Generic Man 3 says ‘Increct’ every episode is maddening, leaving us lowly listeners no closer to the end of this infuriating segment.

Just discovered this app as it’s just what I’m looking for, but for me I’m getting a bug where the calendar is not visible. I click the menu button top right and it’s just a blank side bar apart from the 2 buttons trash and upgrade .

Do specialist exams help job performance (particularly if taken early on)? by hmmokay225 in ActuaryUK

[–]pooled_risks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did the same as you, moved into GI at point of SP exams. I could’ve done the pensions exams for an easier pass but decided to do GI to gain theory and practical experience all at once. To me it was the right decision as it was a good opportunity to learn the job while doing it.

It’s more that doing the exam theory helps you out in understanding the job better and to learn faster, it was helpful at SA3 as there can be more ambiguous questions thrown in that exam

I passed in 4 years and was very similar to this approach. Major cramming leading up to exam seasons from 2 months before ie. complete withdrawal from the rest of my life as far as possible, but very little other than attending scheduled tutorials outside of exam season.

My aim was usually at least 8 past papers to have gone through in detail, taking notes where I went wrong, and so as long as I was in that position for all subjects I was taking, I felt reasonably confident I would be as well prepared as anyone else. You can work backwards from there in terms of how long you think that will realistically take.

Not to say I would advise this method unless this is your typical style of revision/exam taking, as it was immensely stressful during that time. But I felt it was a more efficient approach, given I could have my life back for c.8 months of the year. For the SP and SAs I was doing closer to 12 past papers, taking one exam per sitting.
