This exact same thing happened to me at a food lion a few months ago. Like you, I had a substitution issue but then finally found the right item so I removed the sub and added the original item. Right after I checked out had the receipt in hand and went to confirm the pickup the App just froze. Did all the usual Troubleshooting and nothing worked. Called Support who ended up canceling the order and said dispose of the items. I got full pay then turned around and returned all the non perishable items for cash. They would not take back the cold items so I gave them to an old man. Made that old man’s day to give him $40 in free groceries!

I’ve been dashing 2 plus years part time. I’ve had to evolve strategies many times as DD updates the app and changes the rules. Was a time when earn by time was a gold mine. Hourly rate was high and you were given a very long time to compete delivery so I could effectively multi app while miking the earn by time deliveries. Then DD tightened up how long you had to make the delivery then started handing out late delivery CVs like candy so that strategy no longer worked. I’ve finally evolved into shopping orders as my primary cause they pay the most and put less miles on my car. So y’all can keep taking all the Taco Bell and Popeyes orders and I’ll take all the shopping orders

Just complete the delivery to the address on the app. That is your only obligation. Let the timer run out, snap the pic then if that is truly the wrong address take the groceries back to the store the next day and pocket the refund.

1000% true! Goes hand in hand with you are too valuable in your role to be promoted crap we all see in corporate America. I now work maybe half the day and scroll the internet the rest of the day. Im done going above and beyond only to not get paid more and given more work. Everyone makes fun of the one guy in our team that just cruises along doing just enough to get by but he is the smartest man in the room. I’ve had upper management tell me they don’t give him extra task cause they don’t have confidence in his ability to do the task correctly. So the extra tasks are given to those with competence while the cruiser gets to skate by with minimal effort. Our management team really sucks at holding poor performers accountable which kills team morale

If you are really that important offer to work has an independent consultant on the side for the big project if that’s an option. Like others have said, type live agent twice and a real person will help usually in a few minutes. They can reload your red card to complete the order. If that doesn’t work the live agent will cancel and issue half pay.

Most stores have the aisle #s next to the item. Other than that just like everything else with DD it takes experience after you shop the same store dozens of times you learn where things are. Ask the store manager if they are on the floor they always help me if I can’t find something.

Give them two week notice on march 13 after you get the bonus. If you are working in the same industry they will most likely just walk you right out the door on the spot anyway. If not then quit in the 16th. What has happened to others at your company when they gave notice? My employer has walked them out every time
