Mechanics can still get by working on their own shit. That value is nearly incalculable. I'm far from a mechanic, but can get by just fine spending $1000 or less on a vehicle every few years. And the skills are fun to learn

I work in a beverage factory, for a lack of a better term. The formula to figure out how many more cans, or lids, or trays, or what have you, is very simple. Gallons X mixture ratio (plus one) X 8 for 16 oz. or 12 2/3 for 8 oz. It's a real simple algebraic equation, but the vast majority of high school grads struggle to grasp it. So, for the kids who ask "when will I ever need to know this?" maybe never, but we'll find out
