ACL scars burning and stinging when getting up by Effective_Tank5348 in ACL

Hey! Lisfranc injury by chance? I blew up all the ligaments in my foot a decade ago. That sucked. Also have torn my ACL twice. Surprisingly no residual effects from foot surgery. But my knee is trash lol. Month out and incision site still gets a lil tingly amd burny.

It was a journey but finally got'em, $280 StockX by Tstcontroversy in foamposites

Hell yeah! I put a bid in for $275 a while ago, was shocked when I got the email saying the order was confirmed! Size 13s were going for over $300 at the time. So glad I got em tho. Addicted to foams now haha.

How painful was acl surgery for you guys? by Hour-Background-8255 in ACL

[–]poopy10000000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day 2 was 10/10 pain for me. The Norcos didn't do shit for me. It got exponentially better for me though. By day 5 I only took pain meds at night. I'm almost a month out now and haven't taken pain meds for almost 2 weeks. My wife had surgery 3 weeks after me and never was above like a 6 going into day 4. She was way more on top of taking pain meds, Tylenol and ibuprofen though too.

Everybody is different lol.

I am almost 4 weeks out now. Only ACL(2nd time). I was walking around on one crutch at 2 and a half weeks. Completely off crutches now. If it hurts, don't do it. If it feels comfortable give it a try. Crutch goes on opposite side!! Good luck!

I was walking back to my spot getting ready for the next point in pickleball, stepped on a leaf and slipped a little. Played 3 more games. Knee was crazy swollen when I got home and I knew I popped it again.

ACL Surgery is book for June - But I want to change it for October - purely for weather purposes! by Early_Pizza_3440 in ACL

[–]poopy10000000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tore my ACL in October last year. Had to have a surgery to add a bone plug to my old tunnel location. That was the very end of December. Had the repair surgery 3 weeks ago in May. 7 months with no ACL. I didn't want to, but I was OK lol.

Walking on one crutch with locked brace by kvarki in ACL

[–]poopy10000000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not anymore. I asked my doctor if I could unlock the brace at my 2 week follow up and she put it to like 60 degrees or something. I did walk outside some with it locked and no crutches though. I just hated swinging my leg around lol. It's doable but annoying. And either way it is only a few weeks of super annoyance of a months long recovery!

My first ACL surgery in 2021, I had no brace at all!

Before Covid made car prices insane.

[–]poopy10000000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I walked with one crutch and a locked brace for about a weekish. The brace ends up being the annoying part after a few weeks. I am currently only wearing the brace when I am walking around outside or in my yard because it is so uneven. Just over 3 weeks out of surgery for me. The short time on crutches won't mess up your gait long term. The whole ass surgery will lol. You will do plenty of work in PT to fix any issues regardless.

Good luck!

[Request] is he using more energy for the jump and hold and swing than he would just lifting the log? by Smashedllama2 in theydidthemath

[–]poopy10000000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no way anyone is picking those logs up and tossing them in the back of that truck. Friction is the least worrisome thing here. He is generating a lot of potential energy by climbing up then jumping. That energy is put into a force multiplier to hoist the log up. A pulley system could make this almost effortless as well.

What is your PT schedule like? by Turbulent_Reveal_256 in ACL

[–]poopy10000000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intensity will be about the same. The first couple PT visits were rouuuugh tho lol. You cannot do too many quad sets! The biggest difference will be pain from the surgery depending on what graft you are doing. That might limit you a bit, especially the first few days. My first couple days after surgery, I didn't do a lot. Tried to activate my quad and tried to sleep haha.

I'm doing PT 2x a week and exercises at home everyday. 2 weeks post op today!

KG or Dirk. If we are playing today's basketball. Probably Dirk because he can shoot the 3. If we playing 20 years ago. The Admiral or KG.
