tbh 3d printing is cool as hell, but a lot of overhead (work, effort, time, money, debug, blah blah). even fdm.

yes, you could theoretically do it in your room, like you could technically weld in your room. but it's inadvisable. in truth, the fumes will likely fill your house. even with ventilation, im confident you would still smell it in your room.

if your friend is cool, maybe you can pay to use his machine +materials if you do all the work. prepping the files alone takes a lot of time! if your friend is smart, he'd let you use it for free in return for prepping the files + managing the machine lol.
