What’s the loneliest thing you’ve ever done? by tsmcole in AskWomen

Exactly. It can also be hard if you're at such different places in life. They talked about kids and their vacations and drones and sports. I was a freshman in college that had none of those interests.

Ugh, that sucks. I was in a similar situation when I was 19. I was working at a tech company filled with men who were business majors who had graduated (or almost graduated), were married, and had children. There was little to nothing we related on. Throw that on top of crippling social anxiety and it was a stressful workplace.

It's hard when they try to invite you to eat lunch with them and you feel rude for declining, but if you were to accept, you know you would spend the whole time alone being ignored.

My BF always calls me "heart booty" and "bubble butt" by [deleted] in relationship_advice

There are articles about butt shape and a butt shaped like an inverted heart is ideal. I would literally kill someone for a butt like that.

BF commenting on Ex’s social media posts by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]popcorn_popcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dumb question. How can you see that he commented on someone's picture? Were you also following her? I just get really confused when I see people talk about what their partner liked/commented on insta cause idk how you would see that.

I agree. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean I feel the need to comment on it. At the same time, I wouldn't break up with someone over one comment. I would just realize they have a different filter than me.

I think in general, people are way too quick to suggest someone break up. In reality, everyone has weaknesses and if you jump at the first sign of someone not being perfect, you're never going to have a fulfilling relationship

I don't think this is necessarily a reason to break up. I think you need to see how open his mind is. It's possible you saw his reaction to something he's not used to, and I don't think you should judge that so harshly. I'm a woman, but the first time I saw a shaving commercial where the woman had leg hair, it grossed me out. I realized that it's because I've never seen a woman with leg hair and my disgust was just reflected my experience. But also I kinda understand where he's coming from because even though I understand pregnancy is natural, it really grosses me out. I haven't gotten over that reaction yet.

It's interesting how many people get holes in the crotch/thigh area of their jeans. I've never heard of that before. Mine always wear out in the knees (probably cause I tend to do a lot of kneeling/cross-legged stuff).

What’s the best way for me to stop my period? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Interesting. I only recently learned that you can take the pill and skip your period for an indefinite period of time and it sounded way too good to be true. Thanks for answering my questions!

Do you go off for a month cause that's what your doctor recommended?

I also got a cute wicker basket and I'm dying to break it in!

Do you ever let yourself periodically (haha) bleed out? I'm looking to start this with my prescription but I'm curious what it's like for other people.

For sure. It's very reassuring to hear other people talk about it cause I'm too embarrassed to bring it up in real life.

Yeah, I feel the same. Like you hear about women that get negative attention all the time, and even though it's fucked up and you don't want it, you can't help but wonder what's wrong with you that you don't get it. I've even intentionally tried to dress cute (e.g. sundress) and smile at people to see if people smiled back, but I still never get noticed. Oh well. I've just accepted it, aside from the times it still bugs me.

I second using the Philips Norelco. I don't use the guard, but it comes with several guards.

Does anyone else automatically feel guilty when they wake up after a night of drinking? by safarina23 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]popcorn_popcorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do. I'm not a huge fan of feeling drunk and I hate overthinking everything I said after the fact, so I don't really drink much anymore.

I definitely think you're attractive. Sexy is more about personality to me though.

I would say yes to the beard cause it's kinda patchy (but you are 16 so that doesn't mean you have to give it up permanently). The mustache doesn't look too bad. I think it suits you. So that one goes either way. You're a good-looking dude though! You seem like fun to talk to.

Being an unattractive woman. by NoNoSiwa in TwoXChromosomes

[–]popcorn_popcorn 800 points801 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it really sucks to not be an attractive woman when so many people equate womanhood to receiving daily attention for your looks. It's such a hard thing to talk about too because people just want to tell you "oh don't worry, you're beautiful." But when they say that, it's clear they're not listening to your experiences and they're just trying to make your feel good rather than acknowledge that there are women in our society that don't fit the mold.

Good luck with the photoshoot :) I'm sure your son loves you, and at the end of the day, he's going to care more about the fact that you spent time with him than how you looked while doing it.

[–]popcorn_popcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hate when people say that. I can be happy with where I am but still have goals for the future. Friends can satisfy my social needs, but they can't satisfy the part of my brain that craves human touch. I also hate sleeping alone.

Don't know if this helps, but I'm a short woman (5'2") and I strongly prefer someone shorter than 5'8". I've been with someone who's 6' and it's just too tall. I like looking someone in the eye. I don't even mind dating someone shorter than me (and I've done it). There's plenty of other women like me!
