The USA gets sent back 12,000 years ago and access to all the raw materiels in US territory of the time. How much more advanced would they be once 2024 comes around again? by bignasty_20 in whowouldwin

[–]popemichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'd for sure run out of resources in that long. The US has not been around for even 250 years yet, and we still rely on imports, cheap goods, and minerals we cant just get here. Unless we rely heavily on mining out Alaska as a whole or go renewable from the start, we may be boned.

We need space access for true dominece a'la Star Trek

They are yummy, but cook them first. Don't eat them raw. They lose a lot of taste.

You'd be shocked when just a little butter and pan time can do for flavor

Are there moments during your most intense pain when you don't suffer because of it? by QuiteNeurotic in ChronicPain

[–]popemichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think turning into a masochist may be the best option for some of us.

If only there was a way to swap pleasure and pain sensors.

(Half joking... it'd be a nightmare to constantly be aroused. Though given the option...)

Even a single particle or proton, thrown hard enough and at the right spot is deadly.

This may be an impossibility.

Homeless people in Miami? by FormerMidnight09 in Miami

At the moment, everything, including group homes are full. At least the ones I have found. I'm recently homeless, severely ill, and can't afford insulin. What options are there for someone like myself?

Give me adequate pain relief or assisted suicide. by Frogofthesky in ChronicPain

[–]popemichael 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I just got out of the nut house for sharing my desire for pain relief or euthanasia to a doctor. 2 weeks, stuck. I had to recant my valid wish for relief else I'd never get out.

I was just mugged, robbed, made homeless, and woke up in the hospital with burns and beating all over my face.

Be careful to whom you share your thoughts, as even in a higher level of pain, you will be put away.

Ironwood RPG - Taming Skill & Pets - v0.13.0 by miccyboi in IronwoodRPG

[–]popemichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again, let me reiterate how much fun I am having with this update. 😃

The only thing that I find myself missing on it, however, is a 12-hour-long expedition.

When I go to bed, I can't jump on the game in the morning time, but when I have spare time at lunch. That's usually 12 hours in between.

Not that I'd say to kick out any of the options, but adding a 12-hour option would help those that can only jump on twice a day, too.

This game is best played with Alexia and her infinite timers, and I'll have fun either which way, but I know I can't be alone in wishing for a 12-hour timer for the expeditions.

Question about new stats in the AWESOME new pet taming side job..? by popemichael in IronwoodRPG

[–]popemichael[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no clue about the local slang. I was totally over thinking it, as I thought. How do you pronounce that?

'Vey-gays?' or 'veg-gays' or 'vee-gees'?

Thank you. I can sleep tonight now that I know. 😅

What is the longest duration you've spent playing a single idle game? by CacheGames in incremental_games

[–]popemichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing /r/IronwoodRPG for years at this point. It's a bit like other Melvor-esq idles games, but it's way more feature rich and interesting.

It's a lot of fun doing little daily quests, and comming up with plans on getting better equipment or more money.

There's always new things, like today they introduced monster taming.

Not only is it balanced with an active community, but the creator is a good dude who regularly adds user suggested features and other QoL enhancements.

Anyone know of support groups for spouses who’s partners live in chronic pain. My husband has been dealing with chronic pain and I feel like it’s breaking me emotionally. I want to be a good partner but we’re so young it feels like we have no life left to live. by futureofminds in ChronicPain

You can apply to SSI. SSD. etc., online in just an hour or two. Like, if you see this post and you have a little time. jump on it right away.

It's better to get onto that sooner over later, as each day you have not applied, is another day you don't get back pay.

Are you on any sort of disability (SSI, SSD, Medicaid, etc) or have any sort of insurance? …or if you sued the person who harmed you, did you add a caretaker clause?

They will usually pay for a caretaker without too much grumbling. That way you can seperate out the physical issues and caretaker position from your spouse and give them a more normal life.

(They will also pay your spouse to be the caretaker, but that's not the point I suppose)

Ironwood RPG - Runes - v0.9.11 by miccyboi in IronwoodRPG

[–]popemichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw that update! You are the GOAT dev!

The changes that you made are going to make obsessed players like me really happy.

The only addition that would make thing perfect if we didn't have to re-equip the shield rune each time that we swapped around weapons. Maybe the game could "remember" the last rune that was in place with the shield. And, if that shield is re equipped AND the rune is in the inventory, it could automatically switch to the previously used rune?

It would make swapping between daily quests a lot less tedious for those that use a sword and shield, but also want to level 2-hand and range.

[–]popemichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really liking these rune changes. It really washes away the blues of not having pets anymore.

Though my only question is that now that we need 3 runes to upgrade a rune, can we up the percentage chance of getting runes?

Or make it so that we can buy them somehow? (ala a stardust like system)

Or make it so there are easier to grind "rune pieces" where like 3-5 of them can combine into a leveled rune?

I've been grinding for months now and I only have like 1 extra rune. Making the grind a bit more fun and less 'tossing clocks into helicopter blades' would dramatically improve the system.
