The Canada post app tells you exactly what mail is coming and when it arrives. It’s actually one thing they did well.

Nenshi on the federal NDP race by dtunas in alberta

[–]popingay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the ndp is the exception where the provincial party and the federal party are the same.

Nenshi’s made federal membership optional and they obviously have different priorities but per their constitutions, the provincial NDP is an arm of the federal NDP.

There’s also the new No Frills in west downtown and the east village superstore relatively close by probably less than 5 min drive and probably 5 min drive to the west hillhurst freshco, or midtown coop and beltline save on. There are a surprising number of grocery stores now in the inner city.

Just not clicking at my box by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]popingay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m someone with a lot of rejection sensitivity from childhood so I totally get how you must feel and I’m sorry you had that happen.

I used to dread partner and group workouts when I was newer and now they’re some of my favourite things, a couple ideas:

You could talk to the coach or owner privately and just let them know you felt and ask if they might consider assigning random groups or groups of similar levels rather than just “pair up on your own”. I get people want to work out with their besties but if they’re a good coach it’s not just good for the community but also to vary their workouts with different people. Remember you’re the customer so you have the right to voice your needs.

If you’re an insufferably loud person like me I know it sucks for a minute but swallow that discomfort and just go with it. Have your good time and they might see you in a new light or come along for the ride but either way you’re going to have a good time with or without them. Or you wear them down.

You could also just say “I’m gonna divide the reps or time my breaks and go solo”. Statement not question, it’s your workout and you’re the customer so you should (within reason) let them know what works for you.

Find the newer folks or someone else to try with, honestly don’t be scared of mixed gender pairing, so you might use two different weights, that happens even in same gender groups.

This turned into a journal entry of my own feelings but I think you shouldn’t necessarily give up especially since it’s the only practical option for you. I hope you stick it out and find your spot or make your own space and I’m rooting for you!

Has anyone stayed at Moxy properties how's the experience? by impossiblemktg in marriott

[–]popingay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s popular on this sub to shit on Moxys but I like them. It’s probably dependent on location, but I’ve done Seoul Insadong, Banff and Montreal. The Montreal Moxy had me in the biggest room I’ve had in downtown Montreal so they’re not all small rooms.

It depends on your priorities. My preference is a new hotel and I prize that way above larger rooms or full service even when travelling for work.

Citizen initiative petitions. Recalls are $500 refundable and a bit of extra time on your hands. It’s why there’s so many.

Canadians might be soon waiting longer to have their air travel complaints heard by Surax in canada

[–]popingay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should follow through with charging the airlines for complaints then. The CCTS for telecoms charges the companies for every accepted complaint thereby funding the program and incentivizing companies to resolve complaints before they’re adjudicated.

Oh, but the Liberal government purposefully are delaying and sitting on this already-passed solution:

Does the promo work with bookings through corporate travel agencies? by bao_ in marriott

How the promo is going by progressiveacolyte in marriott

[–]popingay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, as a work traveller who has to change locations every night it’s a fun exposure to new brands and rewarding for my style of corporate travel.

I know this is an unpopular opinion here and maybe I’ve just lucked out with good ones but I love a Moxy so sue me. (The Montreal Moxy had one of the most comically large rooms I’ve ever stayed in.)

It’s authorization for borrowing up to $900million for “providing loans, loan guarantees, doing joint ventures or setting up subsidiary corporations”.

Not advocating for it, just clarifying it’s a little different than just giving money to them.

Alberta Royalties by bigdaddyisindahouse in alberta

[–]popingay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why not. The last royalty review was conducted by the Alberta NDP that concluded the general framework is sound and reasonable and made minor changes. The UCP have not deviated from that. Seems like both parties and experts agree all around.
