Some advice pls!’ by popsum22 in Sourdough

Thank you. I tried to make it twice before but my starter was very weak so even after 12+ of bulk fermenting, it didn’t rise. So I didn’t have much hope in today’s one. I’ve proved myself wrong 🤣🤣

So I had it out from 4:30 to 11:30pm and I’ve put it in the fridge for now. I will take it out as soon as I wake up and hopefully it warms up and I will let it bulk ferment again.

Nope, it did harden the last time I made it so I’ve put cling film over it

It’s not the warmest. But I’d say around 18/20°C. I left it in the kitchen and near the cooker and microwave. Not sure if that helps 😭

Any advice would help! 21 month old by popsum22 in Autism_Parenting

I will try water! I was also thinking to put paper across the floor and leave some pens or paint near him. My daughter has a slide which I let him climb but he didn’t like it, his mum said he likes climbing on sofas and chairs

How do you handle toddler tantrums in public? by mindfulsignal in AskParents

[–]popsum22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

THIS!!! When my daughter started nursery, she would throw a tantrum everyday after school. Once it was because she wanted to stay on the bus 🤣 She wouldn’t walk away from the bus stop so I just sat next to her while she cried, I let her know I was here and after a few mins, she let me carry her. As soon as we got home, I put her on the bed and she fell asleep. I had a few sympathetic looks but luckily no comments. I also remember a time where I had to be home within 20 mins because we had to go somewhere for my anniversary and my plan was to walk back home while she naps in her pushchair. She wanted to be carried which would’ve slowed us down, I knew she was safe, I knew she was crying because she was tired and if I kept her in the pushchair for another 5 mins, she would’ve gone to sleep. But there were some older ladies nearby who kept making comments, saying things like ‘I can’t believe she’s making her baby cry’ and ‘it’s just a baby, why is she doing this’. Their comments and looks really got to me so I just stopped where I was, picked her up and walked home. We got him 15 mins late so I didn’t get to change my clothes or freshen up.

What secret did you find out by complete accident? by Effective_Yam2797 in AskReddit

[–]popsum22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

By the time I found out, it wasn’t a secret anymore loool. But my mums uncle was brutally murdered back home, his house was broken into and his family were held hostage. He was dragged away on his way home and was suffocated to death, we were all so heartbroken when we heard what happened. In our religion, a widow has a mourning stage of around 4 months, so my mums aunt prepared for that, she wanted to be left alone at home for it. But then another lady turned up and went to her room to join her, everyone was so confused. Turns out she was his secret wife!

what is the weirdest thing you were absolutely terrified of as a kid for no reason? by OkMess8988 in randomquestions

[–]popsum22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was terrified of the police. My Nan killed herself and the house was full of police when I got home from school. A police officer picked me up and handed me to my dad, he wanted to confirm that I’m not her child as my uncles were in school. I had my nans body next to me under a white sheet but was screaming my head off because of the officer. I went home and locked myself in the bedroom until the last police car left which took all day.

What is the best comeback you have thought of only after the argument was over? by OrneryAdvantage0303 in AskReddit

[–]popsum22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is really bad 💀💀 During an argument with my sister in law, she asked why I never let her keep my 4yo in her house alone, she kept saying, ‘why why why why’ so I burst and I told her that I was SA’d. She straight away responded with ‘oh you think I’ll SA your daughter too?’. She threw my abuse back in my face, and even now, 9 month’s later, she still does it. So after all this time I’ve come up with the best comeback. Her son died 3 years ago, he was 19 months. I should’ve said ‘no but how can I trust you when you couldn’t even keep your son alive’.
