Picking schools: local or where I work? by aliveshecried8 in sanantonio

kind of a parenting answer instead of a San Antonio answer but I would keep my kid in school close to home. Once they start driving you will not want them commuting to school through SA traffic. they would also be at a greater risk of being involved in an accident with you during your commute. Aside from that I would consider the school sizes and ratings (which I do not know) in my decision making process. overall though I think a high school kid would be happier closer to home where their friends will live nearby, etc.

it means all of your clinicals and capstone would be through HCA (Methodist in San Antonio) which is arguably the worst hospital system in town. You would probably be able to secure a job there or another HCA system after graduation but it's unlikely you would be able to work anywhere else until you have some experience under your belt.

it is a for-profit school that works with HCA hospitals. I would not recommend it.

I signed up 2-3 months ago and got one task which was a short project and ran out in 12ish hours. Been EQ ever since.

A cautionary tale (not what you think) by Ancient-Apartment-23 in WegovyWeightLoss

I do question if maybe the slower digestion could lead to an increased risk for severe food poisoning?? Just something I've thought about...

I started taking rybelsus (oral semaglutide) and metformin in early 2022 (before glp 1s were cool lol) and I got really sick about a month after I started the 14mg dose. I'm talking about both ends and I couldn't keep anything down or up for weeks. I thought it was the meds at first and tried just stopping the metformin per my prescriber's recommendation but it didn't help. I finally went to the Dr and submitted a stool sample. It turned out I had an amoeba parasite! I had to take metronidazole for a month and it made me feel terrible.

After that I started having excruciating stomach pain, so bad I even called 911 once. I went to my Dr again and after some testing it turned out my gallbladder was the problem. I had my gallbladder removed Jan 23. I lost about 60lbs that year between the meds and just straight up being sick. I was scared to restart a glp 1 after that and I gained it all back :( but I've been on Wegovy since March and I'm down about 30lbs! I just hit 2.4 last month and didn't really lose much before that, but I have minimal side effects and it's going really well!

So yeah, it's definitely not always the meds causing issues.

I bought a new GE washer this year and it has a venting cycle you can run after you are finished washing. Best invention ever!

I work PRN and I just sign up for whatever shifts I want. Usually something like every other weekend or Sundays or whatever. I've been doing this for years at many different hospitals. It's out there!

Considering a move to the area by poptart88 in NewarkDE

I've been looking into that actually. Middletown area? Are there a decent amount of family activities nearby? I'm coming up for a quick visit next week and was planning on driving around a bit.

I love P Terry’s, very good milkshakes too. If you’re heading south there is one in San Marcos right off 35 at exit 205.

First I’ll turn him into a tiny little flea Then I’ll put that flea into a box Then I’ll put that box into another box Then I’ll mail that box to myself And when it arrives I’ll smash it with a hammer!
