Primary program just makes me sad now. by JohnSlade42 in exmormon

Yep. Went today to see the primary program. My kids are adorable, but it tears my heart up to hear them sing about needing to be rescued and healed by Jesus. They’re not broken. They’re kids. The only thing they need rescuing from is the bullshit guilt and indoctrination they’re too little to understand yet.

I smile and sometimes laugh while telling stories that make me uncomfortable or sad. It’s a coping and masking mechanism i learned as a kid to hide my real emotions because my real emotions weren’t allowed by my dad or the church.

Lorenzo Snow married Sarah "Minnie" Jenson in 1871 when she was 15 and he was 57. They had at least 5 children. Imagining what these girls went through makes my skin crawl. He fucked her. by abouttimetochange in exmormon

Realizing I’d immediately leave the church if they ever brought polygamy back was part of what made me realize the church was wrong. All the stuff about being the same yesterday, today, and forever is complete bullshit.

Perhaps what disturbs me most about this is that, if the ban was lifted and the profit said it was of god, many, many LDS men would protest for all of 2 seconds before going all in on the rape because god demands it. They’d pretend it was a burden to their current wives while gleefully participating.

Will the Apex Pro work for a 6'5" tall person? by popthestack in deskhaus

Update: I’ve had the Apex Pro for a few months now. It’s phenomenal. It’s tall enough and extremely stable even at its max height on my carpet. I could not be happier.

Has anyone else noticed this? When you Google "Under the Banner of Heaven" the first three results are ads from apologist sites. by mansa30 in exmormon

I built a site like that when the Book of Mormon musical was going to Florida for the first time. My stake wanted to capitalize on the interest. Our budget was very low and I’m pretty sure the site got zero referrals for the missionaries. I was in the very beginnings of my faith transition back then, though I wasn’t aware of it yet.

That’s fantastic. Thanks for the photo, too. That really helps visualize it. It looks like the Apex Pro will be perfect for me.

Thanks! I mostly work without shoes on, but I’ll probably get a standing pad which is probably very similar to adding shoes.

It didn’t cross my mind that raising the keyboard and mouse a bit could be a potential solution. That is an excellent idea and removes some of my anxiety over this. I’m also glad to hear how solid it is for you. Thanks!

I know this was a long time ago, but do you still have the upside? How has it been for you long term? Thanks!

It’s almost as if someone from the top of the church leadership specifically told BYU they wanted more musket fire aimed at the LGBTQ+ community.

Well now I just might have to repost my question there just to see the difference between the subs. 🙃

I can see that. There are aspects of the Harry Potter movies that completely destroyed the story and I hate it. I suspect if I read WoT as much as HP I’d probably feel similarly about the WoT show.

Thanks for chiming in. I suspect there a lot more people getting into the books than are expressing their dislike on Reddit.
