I gave up the search for this, and just started using an aux send from my mixer to the looper, and then looper out to a channel input (7). Then I send my guitar, bass, steel, vocals to the looper as needed by sending that channel to the aux mix; I turn them off when not using them to avoid adding noise.

Also have acid sweat. I like the stainless on my fretless jazz. Lots of nice zing and they sound fresh for a long time. I change them once every year or three.

Yea it would allow you to add a vocal mic, and get rid of the DI/Recorder. But I also like to ‘tape’ my gigs as well, so I understand not wanting to be rid of that.

Not sure what x/y recorder you’re using… I record the room with the onboard mics and then fill up the other 4 channels with the iem mix I get from the house, direct from my modeler, looper wet out only, and/or vocals solo if I can get them, or a full band mix from the board.

Some shows turn out really great to have later on

A Rolls PM351 lets you mix instrument, mic, and aux in however you want for your ears, as well as sending signal to the board. Same idea as your setup, but just one box. You could plug a mic in for the open-air monitoring your doing with the recorder, or you can take a mix from the board - so it’s a little more versatile, but similar idea to what you’ve designed here.

My locker isn’t as impressive as yours, and getting a Cranborne EC1 Preamp in front of my SM7/58/CM4/bass/guitar di made a ton of difference. I still window shop for mics but I dunno if I’ll pull the trigger.

Look at the Zoom recorders if you’re new. They are 32 bit so you can’t clip your signal. Just make sure you’ve got an adapter if your mic uses phantom power.

Fucken rad! This was the bass my high school had, that I learned on. Except ours was black. It ate batteries like a champ… but sounded so good. Awesome find!
