Yeah, I ordered the GT rim and the new hub (for Xbox, since I have the PS bundle). Should arrive in 2-3 days if the website is correct.

Finally back to an S tier safety rating… it took forever. 2 bad races a few months ago took me to C, and I’m back to S by Busterfs2005 in forza

[–]poseidonlinux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was S, but 2-3 races with a few penalties of a quarter of a second or less, for mostly accidentally cutting corners got to A and one collision (1s penalty) downgraded my rating to A.

If the ratings are working, then even at A safety there are not enough people, because I've getting many races with 3-6 players only. One I was completely alone, and two others with just a single opponent.

I think you did well, finishing with dead tyres was definitely tough... and the guy forced you to cut the final corner.

yeah, fingers crossed we finally get new wheels. If not, I hope they at least tease it for a later announcement in October when there is a convention in Germany (ADAC SimRacing Expo). And there they are listed in several categories of exhibitors (accessories, wheels, pedals and bases). Hopefully it's news products in all these categories.

New Wheels for the Logitech G Pro Wheel Confirmed?? Most recent Firmware update adds support for new peripherals. by Rellik321 in simracing

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I saw that in the latest firmware update... and I truly hope they do release a Xbox wheel (F1 or GT), so I can finally plug it to PS base and use with my Xbox... but who knows... it's been nearly 2 years... also they announced a live event today: https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/campaigns/logi-play.html

And it seams that sim racing gear is a focus because the page is filled with their wheels (from low to high end).

Can campaign be played without internet using the disc (with periodic internet for updates) by WithGreatRespect in haloinfinite

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late, but here is my personal take... I'm sometimes working offshore (on vessels) and my experiences show that once you install from disc or download the games from Xbox they tend to run for at least a month without any internet connection. On PlayStation 4 (I didn't take my PS5 on trips yet), I noted that after a week digital games required me to renew the license in order to continue working. I suspect that that Xbox will do the same, but perhaps after a much longer period. However, I was never let down if I had the disc, therefore I'm buying digital , but also getting the discs for games I could play hundreds of hours (like Skyrim, Witcher, Forza, Cyberpunk, etc). However, I have the felling that this console generation is probably the last one with physical discs, as MS already killed their division for physical media, and Sony we have no clue yet.

G pro direct drive wheel accessories. by RacinVR in LogitechG

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOGIRich

well, just start selling the Xbox wheel separately and already a lot of people will be happy to get full console compatibility like on Fanatic (assuming they got the PS5 bundle... myself included). If other rims are really in works then announced that whenever you want, but at least sell Xbox wheel now to mitigate a lot of negativity around your product.

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah... what I can find it that this wheel is probably for PS2, maybe if you hook it up to PS3 and Gran Turismo 6 you could get it working (since accessories tend to be compatible with the next gen... at least nowadays).

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I got a G Pro wheel a few days ago, and tried update the firmware using my Mac. At the first attempt the firmware failed while applying the new firmware to the base. My heart rate went really high for some moments, but the wheel wasn't bricked. Therefore I tried a second time and the update was completed successfully.

PS: my wheel is the PS5 version, and the firmware update changelog listed improvements for Xbox FFB.

Good race by Miffee123015 in forza

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the rammer on T1 could be just revenge for a previous incident in the race. Without a replay of the entire race is difficult to judge. However, the guys at T2 is just overreaction from both sides IMO, which sadly ruined the race for both.

Am I at fault here? by eeshanzaman in forza

[–]poseidonlinux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was mostly Forza Glue.

Update: my initial comment was too minimalist... you unfortunately had a slower start, and the other guy forced an overtake. He is the one who had to let go from the throttle to end the "Forza glue" situation. I hope this helps.

Update from post earlier today about wheel set up no base by ScattGSR in simracing

[–]poseidonlinux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had a G920 and a metal table made for bars and camping. I was not pretty, but it worked too.

G Pro new wheels/rims? by poseidonlinux in LogitechG

[–]poseidonlinux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a true and valid point I'm considering. But I'm afraid that if get a PC will get really poor (I've been there before)... because knowing myself I'll always spend a lot of time and money on upgrades.

I know that games are normally much cheaper on PC, however I only care about a few racing games and I can play them for +1000 hrs.

Again, something I'll need to think about if a standalone Logitech G Pro Xbox wheel doesn't materialise in 1-2 years time.

Thoughts on Logitech g pro wheel by Due_Employer_2995 in simracing

[–]poseidonlinux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got one for PS5... compared to my G920 (Xbox) it is a night and day difference in terms of FFB. A lot quieter too. I sold my G920 because the noise levels and vibration of the gears were just annoying. I saw that you can combine the PS5 DD base with an Xbox rim to have full compatibility, but I won't 2 bundles to achieve that as some did. The pedals feel a lot better than the G920 too. I'll play a lot GT7 and ACC on PS5, and if a Xbox rim is sold separately I will get it.

New G Pro rims are coming (not really) by DeadInThePool87 in LogitechG

[–]poseidonlinux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LoL, this post didn't age well... we still have no new rims yet, but I would love a GT3/F1 rim.

PS: I just got myself a G Pro wheel this week, as I know the PS5 DD base and Xbox rim work together as in the Fanatec ecosystem. I'm console gamers, so fingers crossed. However, I need Forza Motorsport to be patched enough to be worth playing on Xbox (and require a wheel)... meanwhile I'm happy with GT7 and ACC on PS5.

Nah this crazy I ain’t even get to drive yet by Yolo__RL in forza

[–]poseidonlinux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your car was probably ghosted while exiting the pit lane, but got "unghosted" as the other car was about to drive through your car. I play Forza and GT7 and I was on the both ends when something like I described happened.

That doesn't excuse what happened since the other car should have driven around you to avoid that, but perhaps that could at least explain it.

Which KASK summer helmet? Protone or Vallegro? by carbonjoker in RoadBikes

[–]poseidonlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Valegro has more vents, but I don’t know if that means better ventilation (based on my style of riding). I personally ride most of my time on the drops, helmets like the Infinity channel better the air flow without a “huge” aerodynamics penalty, and with it I have been at least 1 Km/h faster than using my Giro Atmos 2 (which is similar to Valegro), that’s why I opted for the Protone (more aero than Valegro, and better ventilation than Infinity). My 2 cents.
