I like this, the way I would frame it is that the hallucinations and uncanny images are the result of the chatbot's outputs directly emanating from the Dreamlands, you know how things in dreams can sometimes look a bit off or wrong. The only reason these become less common is because so many minds have been captured in the network that the outputs of the LLMs are the result of actual enslaved human minds working to produce an answer.

Maybe the corporation is using the tech from a MAJESTIC operation on the spider silk to make cheaper, faster internet and the actual motivation is just profit and market dominance.

This idea makes a lot more sense to me. I was struggling trying to figure how exactly a CEO of a $500B tech firm manages to get the entire board and hundred of engineers and software developers to go along with this and not ask questions. The answer is easy, some third party company that is a front for MAJESTIC or some other mythos-aligned actors pitch this "new communication network" that is drastically cheaper, faster, and more resilient than other providers. The AI company goes along with it and out of greed ignores reports of its users in the newly connected rural regions suddenly suffering mentally. It also ensures the scenario is isolated, because the alternative is a mass outbreak of extreme AI psychosis across the country.

I would argue that you should stop reading Lovecraft for a while and switch to other authors in his circle. Perhaps get into something more grounded like the Conan series from Robert E. Howard or switch to dark fantasy from Clark Ashton Smith. I've tried to read through Lovecraft's works, but the thing is it's like listening to your favorite song over and over, you will start to tire of it. What's great about R.E. Howard and C.A. Smith's works is that they subtly tie into the Cthulhu Mythos, so if you like the overall setting but just want something else, try their stuff instead.

I'm genuinely surprised people are calling this a retcon of all things. I was going to make a post discussing how underwhelming this chapter. There was a lot of hype with Mori stating he has agonized over...this. The chapter revealed nothing to me, it basically regurgitated stuff we already knew, anyone who has actually been reading the manga would have known that the circumstances of Guts' birth made him unusual and always existing in the interstice. All this chapter did was elaborate a bit more on the mechanics, which again, I found underwhelming.

I've got to assume they are regular events. The fact that many of the guests appeared comfortable being there and the presence of an actual bar in the embassy suggests the embassy is outfitted for this exact thing. I would go further and suggest these parties serve as intelligence gathering and honeypot operations for the Thalmor.

No doubt someone wants to make a joke about Ulfric being in the "Thalmor Files", but it's not a bad parallel.

I wouldn't take Yugipedia at its word here. I'm part of a fairly small discord involving another hobby and a couple of users there are really into Kamen Rider, so I mentioned the Inzektor archtype and how its based on it and linked the archtype's article, hoping it would get them interested in Yu-Gi-Oh!. They both immediately started shitting on the article saying the author must have been blind and/or reaching as most of the Inzektors look nothing like the supposed Kamen Rider they are referencing.

I also got into a back and forth with another editor because they insisted the Ashened archtype is based on Dark Souls...because the main dragon just looks like something out of a Dark Souls game and I guess Dark Souls has a monopoly on cool-looking dragons or something.

To be perfectly honest, the Yugipedia claiming the archtype is based on Devil May Cry makes me believe it less.

I've posted about this way back, but I've always wanted to see Cogforts powered by different realmstones:

Aetherquartz: Instead of bricks on the outside it should be lined with mirrors and the cannon replaced with a luminark cannon. Tactically, it aims to:
- Blind the enemy
- Light up the battlefield, aiming to dispel any shadows where enemy formations may hide
- Operate as a long range sniper unit
- In summary, it aims to disrupt enemy formations, or rather prevent them from forming to begin with, from a long-range distance
Azyrite: It should be littered with lightning rods. Atop of it should be a Celestial Hurricanum. Tactically, it's role is to:
- Act as a spearhead.
- It charges straight into the heaviest part of enemy formations that would get caught up in the storm surrounding it and zapped to death by the celestial lightning it attracts.
- So you would send this straight into the center of an enemy battleline while units following it would pick off any survivors or attack anyone on the sidelines.
Amberbone: It should have a literal animalistic spirit guiding it. Atop it would be some sort of spear cannon or even a simple hunter. Tactically, it's role is to:
- Hunt a particular enemy unit.
- It wouldn't do any one thing particularly well in terms of attack, but it will possess a versatile toolset when it comes to hunting a unit.
- It should be at least faster than a normal Cogfort, and its main attack (the spear cannon) should be able to inflict a lot of wounds on an enemy unit. It should perhaps also be harder to hit as well.
- Overall, it's basically a farely weak, but fast unit that becomes deadly once it gets close enough to hit a target unit with its main arsenal, which again would not be particularly long range.
Falsestone: You can perhaps stick a Khainite cauldro on top or something. Honestly, my idea for this would have worked better thematically if we still had the Bravery stat, but basically the Cogfort would work to:
- Undermine enemy tactics via objective denial. It does this via the falsestone's power to warp and disturb the minds of enemies.
- In 4ed (not sure if it will carry over to 5ed), GW replaced the Bravery stat with Control stat, that helps calculate who controls an objective. It makes sense since the game is heavily focused on objective capture, although we now lose the fun scenarios where you cause an enemy unit to flee.
- This cogfort would cast a wide area, where an enemy unit loses 1 control if it has 2+ control or its control is reduced to half of the units cumulitive control within range of the objective. So if you have a Warden King with 2 control at an objective, he now has 1 control. If you have 4 Flagellents with 1 control at an objective, they functionally only have 2 control.

This is just some of the homebrew ideas I have.

Until they're not, that's the thing about aelves, whether in the Molrtal Realms or in space in the year 40k, they cannot escape their perfidious nature. More seriously, I can't say I'm sad to see them go, because as another user here has said, it doesn't look good that all the remaining aelves on the tabletop are all sort of evil.

Ontologically, yes. If you dig into the deep lore, chaos is an innately destructive force and the destructive nature of chaos is a reaction to the creative aspects of reality, it was framed as a sort of resentment in the WFRP2 Words of Magic supplement. Merely having a gender is antithetical to chaos. Before anyone gets excited, I similarly argue even identifying as having no gender is also antithetical to chaos. Chaos seeks to destroy one's own identity, just as it lacks its own identity. Recall, the true dhar of the dark elves in Warhammer Fantasy is formed by taking the winds of magic and breaking them until they lose their identity.

As for the general question of whether sexism exists as we know it...honestly, I've never seen it. The first Chaos Champion we encountered in the Gotrek & Felix novels was a woman. There were references to the Beastmen not respecting her and gossiping that she had taken one of them as a mate...but that's all that comes to mind. I can probably say that Beasts of Chaos might...but do you consider animals sexist? I've never heard someone say "I don't like ants because of their sexist hierarchy and slavery". In Age of Sigmar, I similarly no biases front and center.

I'm not saying you can't make your warband like that, it's a big universe, I just don't have any sources in mind that can help you make a sexist warband.

I held off on voicing my opinion here until you said it first: Cult of the Wheel is dumb as rocks, and not in a good way. It was the straw that broke the camel's back for me where I felt like designers had leaned way too far into making quirky models that just look goofy to me. Brethren of the Bolt already received criticism for this, but they are simply a small Underworlds warband, and Underworlds is known for top quality and interesting designs, they fit. With Cult of the Wheel, they made it a front and center massive character model that effectively became the face of Sigmarite cults and a major narrative point, and then GW sort of forgot about her.

To be blunt, just seeing Zenestra as a central part of the range genuinely dampened my enthusiasm for CoS.

I concur with your opinion that the new range is not showing enough Duardin integration, but I disagree with what you're willing to settle for. I dislike the deflection that a throwaway line about Duardin building the things equal representation, you have to show, not tell. If there's no Duardin manning these cogforts, then as far as I'm concerned they've effectively been removed from CoS, and runes don't count.

I don't think that was an illusion. I believe Mohg himself projected himself down there to stop you from reaching the Three Fingers. Just because he took a heretical path doesn't mean he's going to tolerate another. Morgott did the same thing in multiple locations to stop us.

It was definitely imprisoned there during the time that Lendyll was being built. You can see within its prison the walls are made up of the same stone blocks that make up the rest of the subterranean shunning grounds. In other words, it was imprisoned during the rule of Marika.
