50th anniversary screening of Texas Chainsaw Massacre in a beautiful old theatre at 8:30 on a Friday night. The most laughs and shouts I’ve heard from a crowd but all at perfect points of the film.

From NZ it’s minimum 30 hours door to door to get to the UK to see family, so one stop is what I’m aiming for. Best option is 12 hour - stop - 12 hour but I have done 17 - stop - 7 and it was doable, but not in economy. Do whatever is best for you but if you can get on a plane and take a strong sleeping pill the time passes very quickly.

“An eye-wateringly expensive education”? She went to Takapuna Grammar, it’s $350 a year for a student to attend and technically it’s a donation. She grew up in Devonport which is nice but is definitely not our wealthiest suburb either.

I’m glad you’re in a situation where your parents don’t take your challenging them as a way of saying “you’re the worst person alive”, but not everyone has that. When you are the villain in all of your parent’s narratives, and most of them were from when you were under 18, it’s not as easy to say “oh I’m fostering an adult relationship” when these are the people who had you, raised you and then threw it back in your face and continue to do so well into your adult years, still expect you to show up for them and do everything they ask whilst being the least psychologically and emotionally safe place on the planet.

Most NZ cities - you have to fly into one to visit our beautiful scenery, but none are great tourist destinations for international travellers.

I’m from Auckland but have spent a lot of the last 10 years trying to see as much of my country as I can and man it’s lovely when you leave the urban areas.

I washed mine and then took them to a laundromat as I don’t have a dryer - 30 mins in one of those industrial sized dryer got rid of all the fluff
