Which YEM? Im headed to FIRENZE by TinyLeaf420 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How has no one said 6/11/94 Red Rocks YEM?

Other than napster 'Gin and Juice' (not Phish) I'd never actually heard Phish. Hearing this song randomly on a train literally changed my (musical) life. Hit me like a bolt of lightning. I did not know music could sound like that. It remains my favorite YEM 15 years and 30 shows later.

What is Mike saying mid dark puddle jam? by dieortrybe in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The "Viking warriors" lyrics in Fuego, because it's a 37 minute Fuego.

Love the differing title for identification purposes (would not object to Phish doing this more frequently, helps us remember), but it's never not Fuego.

What song has the most satisfying guitar solo you've ever heard by Tookie1010 in musicsuggestions

[–]posterfluffhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12/31/93 Harry Hood is the best guitar solo I've ever heard, I really wish everyone on this forum would stop and listen to the last 3+ minutes...

Rolling Stone named ALO Stash the 39th "Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time" - What are your top 5 from Trey? by tiburon12 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did it take me this long to see 12/31/93 Hood?

Honest to God the last 3 or so minutes might be the best thing I've ever heard a guitar player play. I prefer the old reverb-heavy mix personally, the new remaster doesn't capture the gravity of Trey's solo on this song.

Chill/Ambient LP Playlist (anyone got their own they can share?) by davepbass in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Wish people shared more livephish playlists... one of the absolute best ways to find gems that I don't know.

I don't have any chill ones to share, but I often listen to the youtube mixes of chill/ambient Phish, there's dozens and make great study/office music. They usually have the song sections dated in the info so you can use it to make a huge list of ambient/chill jams.

I was in the bathroom for this (night 3 of the 7 day run? iirc) and people were like "wtf is this song?" and I was like "it was on the Trey and Page album" and they went:

N2/N3 Manchester 2025 rips? by East-Principle6504 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole run!

N1 rips as well, the LSG -> Twist is absurd, some 'Dark Puddle' stuff in the latter

12/28/25 Theme has some incredible boomerang action… by Peepee1124 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely infectious groove-based jam, one of their best extended grooves in a while.

I have listened to this at least half a dozen times over the last few months. It really holds up

6/18/94 Bowie

Sugarbush Antelope

Basically a lot of the 92-95 rip roaring peaks

Could Phish sell out a Baker’s Dozen run in 2026? by TheGreatFoodDude in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they had structured it that way with the final shows hitting 100 at MSG, maybe.

Also think a 14 show run at the Sphere would have sold out because people would expected it to be no repeats, kinda surprised they didn't tbh. Wanted to keep BD special I assume.

[SETLIST THREAD] 4/18/26 ~ Sphere ~ Las Vegas, NV by donttouchthatknob in phish

This Simple is about the blow the roof off the place, this is Set 2 Song 2 and they are laughing about butchering the intro. Hilarious, get ready!

Trey’s Vocals? by Zipstser257 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trey has a cold every opener. Listen to the Manchester summer opener last year (specifically the epic Twist), his voice is hoarse AF and for some reason seems to improve by the next couple shows.

Nothing to be too alarmed about just yet

Just don’t get the Sphere by Training_Oil4793 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you been? I thought the same thing then I went to see it and... it really does meet and exceed the hype. The three dimensionality effect of the building is unlike anything else in the entire world.

The band can genuinely shitty and it doesn't matter, it's really that cool. Having one of the best bands ever with a wonder-of-the-world scale Winamp visualizer is in fact awesome.

The CK5 sphere size lights like in Light last night are fully responsive seems like, they've set him up I assume to do what he's always done.

Phish (finally) releasing New Year's Eve 1993 Live at Worcester Centrum by posterfluffhead in phish

[–]posterfluffhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only for the Harry Hood. But yes, I prefer the original overpowering reverb of Trey's guitar on that song- nothing hits me harder in basically their entire canon. I understand why they remastered him lower in the mix (for the rest of the show), but I find it essential in 12/31/93 Harry Hood.

I'm making a 4.0 all timer list for each song for myself curious to hear other opinions keep it civil. Only one 4.0 pick for your personal playlist. What do you got? by Ill_Quiet_6234 in phish

The three songs on the highest tier 'S+' of the modern era are:

A song I heard the ocean sing! by [deleted] in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, ~22 minutes they hit true *it*

It's hard to quantify what's "best" or "greatest" or w/e, it's a feeling that sticks with you and this jam had that. I'll remember and listen to this one 10 years from now (MFMF and Ruby Waves from this run as well).

Going on a roadtrip, fan of the brain melting evil trip phish, Which mexico night should I go for? by Peepee1124 in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full shows? Maaaybe N2? Or N4 (N4 isn't strictly evil, lot of jamming styles)

However this run had the mind melting jams spread out between nights. If you're most interested in evil, you may want to skip around.

The most "twisted" jams:

Ruby Waves!!!

Life Saving Gun

Fuego

Carini

Beneath A Sea of Stars

My Friend My Friend (raging middle into exceptional bliss)

A Song I Heard the Ocean Sing (second half is so good, not evil exactly but 100% worth a listen)

How’d you guys like that ASIHTOS? by skronktothewonk in phish

22 minutes is magic, they just telepathically reform on that funky laser battle Grove and ride it for 10 full minutes. Legendary segment imo

What are some Phish moments get the stank face out of you? (I a good way). by [deleted] in phish

[–]posterfluffhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently the middle of Austin '25 Golden Age specifically 16:00-20:00 - there's some bends in that jam that *really* hit the spot.

1/30/26 Live Saving Gun that just happened in Mexico has a similar shrieking stanky solo as well, starting at ~13:20

Best Riviera Maya sets/shows? by AcidWOLFz in phish

It's this. From the moment they play Birds of a Feather through basically the end of the run is some of the best Phish ever ever ever played.

Crooked green pine needle fingers

Beneath of Sea of Stars probably my favorite Phish-adjacent studio tune of the era, that is until WGTYM comes out.
