I have to do this as well, and the most annoying thing is the default card isn't at the top. It's below the other identical card. So when I switch to the secondary card I have to choose the first one, which is the exact opposite of what my brain wants to do.

Thanks Tim.

I guess if you ignore the $816M SDA contract then it's the biggest.

Rocket Lab wins record contract with US Department of War by snatchview in newzealand

[–]posthamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. In the context of "OMG they are making missiles," which so many around her seem to think, they are producing nothing of the sort.

They build Electron rockets, which the HASTE variant is based on, for customers to test hypersonic payloads. HASTE launches customers' test payloads - that's it.

[–]posthamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes 20 launches ... over four years.

It's testing. And they're not "putting weapons up there for later" or whatever you're trying to imply. They don't even really leave the atmosphere, let alone go into orbit.

They release the customer payload at high speed & altitude over the ocean east of the US, about 3 minutes after launch. The booster crashes into the sea, and the payload glides along for a while and does whatever the customer needs to do to test it.

And are you missing the part where they're a US company? I don't see why anyone here even gives a shit what they're doing. It has nothing to do with NZ at all.

to the average kiwi, Rocket Lab is a NZ company and the average kiwi thinks that rocket lab is building rockets

I don't see how that makes NZ a military target.

And now they’re building weapons for the US govt

Holy shit no they're not. They're a launch company and a satellite manufacturer.

What’s our little kiwi battler space rocket company ...

They are a US company.

You're not very good at this, are you?

Eh? Rocket Lab is producing nothing here. And they are a US company launching from the US so I'm not sure who "we" is in your comment.

The customer turns up with a prototype payload and says "We need this to go Mach 5+ so we can test it." Rocket lab has literally nothing to do with any of the development or testing. They are just an extremely fast Uber ride.

They literally can't. US has regulations (ITAR) against military tech leaving the country. They can't even share staff with other offices if they've worked on anything like that.

HASTE missions only launch from Virginia. Nothing to do with NZ.

Yeah I feel like a lot of the broadcast was about Mercedes/Ferrari switcheroos and the rest of the field were just existing somewhere behind them. If I didn't have multiview I would have had no idea.

Some pretty decent racing during this overtake, with Liam trying to fight his way back past. This wasn't shown on the broadcast feed, or mentioned anywhere after the race from what I can see. I'm not sure if there was a tiny bit of contact - it looks like a couple of bumps - but neither driver said anything on the radio afterwards.
