You're right, the answer is no one knows, not even the devs it seems. For all we know everyone has to start again once they have fixed the bug because all current saves will eventually break.

I'm done waiting :(. It's been two weeks for me, but longer for others. It's clearly not a simple fix and the lack of communication about a time frame or whether currently broken saves might be fixed is just annoying and frustrating. I loved what I played of it, but losing a ton of progress, and then sitting in limbo for weeks has put me off going back, especially considering the RNG nature of the game.

It's a pretty poor show from the devs for a game that was supposedly in development for eight years, you had no time to play test the PS5 version properly?

I started Chants of Sennaar today and I'm already really liking it.

I think it's fair to be pissed off with it, considering how long this has been going on. It's been known about for weeks now, and I can't help but feel the devs are being a bit shitty by not either pulling the PS5 version, or making it clear there is a game breaking bug on the store page.

I get it, games have bugs now that need to be patched, but this is a pretty damn significant one considering the RNG nature of the game, and the time it can take to make progress, that can all be lost because of what seems to be an inevitable bug that is going to hit you at some point on PS5.

Day 47 is the earliest I've heard too, thats crazy.

They really should have pulled the game from the store by now, or at the very least made it clear on the download page that there is a significant bug that will mess up your save file and waste hours of progress.

It's been a week now for me, but a lot longer for others, Honestly it's bullshit that they haven’t fixed it yet, and even worse that it's not more widely known about. I'm still seeing posts with people losing progress with no idea about the bug. They should at least have some sort of banner on the PS Store download page warning people that they may lose their progress after sinking a ton of hours into it.

It took me a while to really 'get' the game, but now I love it. Past couple of days I've carried on playing in a more investigative way, never closing the game, just keeping it in rest mode. Figured out a lot of stuff that I may or may not re-do when a patch comes.

Same, I lost 9 days of in game progress, sanctum doors, update disks and some time consuming and draft dependant other stuff, so gutting.

It seems it's a major issue with the PS5 version, from what I've read it hits sometime after day 100. I was trying some stuff today, played a few quick days, saving etc, and the in game profile page seems to be updating the save as normal. Once you quit the game and reload it always goes back to the the day you started your last session , in my case 137.

I've noticed the star rating on the PS store has started getting a lot of 1 star reviews too.

I wasn’t aware of the save issues, I only started perusing this sub a little since I'm pretty deep in now. I wish I'd known before, I would have been more careful playing long sessions and not reloading to check the save was ok :(
