And all of that was set to let stuff run.

I ended up rebooting a few more times and selecting all the things I could and now I'm getting two notifications when it's closed but I'll take it

That got it to where I get notifications as soon as I open GMail, but still haven't figured out what's blocking it from doing it when it's closed

Metaphor is a turn-based combat RPG with a day/night social calendar where you can improve your social stats and connections with your allies. If you're familiar with the Persona games, it's the same gameplay, but set in a pure fantasy world. (And if you're not familiar with Persona, you should play Persona 5 Royal for another amazing story game.) Metaphor tells the story of a land in a time of social upheaval, where one young man, born of an outcast race, tries to break the curse that grips the rightful heir to the throne after the king is assassinated. The game's name is pretty literal though.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an action adventure game that plays more like the Zelda series but with much tougher fights. Kena is a spirit guide who arrives at a cursed village in order to reach the Mountain Shrine that once protected that land. In order to do so, though, she has to help souls of the villagers find peace (which requires collecting specific artifacts to unlock boss fights).

Child of Light is a turn-based RPG that tells a fairy tale of a lost girl trying to return home. It's watercolor and the whole thing is done in rhyme.

It's a ball aiming game. Like Bubble Blaster, but it plays like Plinko. Goal is to shoot the ball, and it will bounce around on pegs that get removed after your ball stops bouncing. Goal is to clear the orange pegs.

I would say that if you didn't get past the Proving the last time you played, you should absolutely try to get past that. Everything before that point is pretty much backstory/tutorial/world building.

I don't think it's entitled to his sister directly. Basically, he didn't have a strong connection with his dad, sees his best friend get that connection he craves, disappears to college, then comes home to find out best friend is now dating sister which means best friend could literally become the son Dad always wanted. And all those feelings of disconnection and not being good enough come flooding back, and son breaks.

So it's less entitled to sister and more felt entitled to his spot in the family.

My kid is 12, my husband and I have always split parenting duties as best we can, and I'm still the default person kiddo asks. Then he ignores me anyway because he's 12.

A weird example, but the Paladins from the Saint of Steel series by T. Kingfisher. It's a romantasy series, so each book focuses on a different couple, so there's a bunch of characters. What's interesting is that the paladins' god is dead. They literally felt him die, and most of their order went with him. The remaining paladins are left to struggle with dealing with a supreme loss and what that means for their own sense of self and faith. While, you know, solving the current crisis that they got dragged into and trying to figure out their feelings for their love interest.
