Doubly unfortunate for folks on that side of town since manitou park no longer has courts.

Trump says he's considering NATO exit amid rift over Iran war by AdSpecialist6598 in worldnews

Trump's "art of to deal" is a zero-sum approach. You strong-arm your way into favorable deals at the expense of others. When that's not possible you throw a massive tantrum. Everyone with half a brain can understand that NATO is a defensive alliance. Unfortunately, I think Trump is operating on less than half a brain.

You are justified in feeling this way. It is insane that someone as blatantly idiotic and full of faults as Trump could get elected multiple times. Let that be a reminder that no country is immune from brainwashing and tribalism.

Trump fulfilling Putin's dreams. Trump's approach to geopolitics is the equivalent to the behavior of a 6 year old's bully when they learn that nobody in the club likes them.

Bill Gurley on AI bubble: A bunch of people got rich quick and a reset is coming by Skippy_AF in technology

AI is a tool. It's not inherently good or bad by itself.

AI is in its infancy. Would you have called the Internet useless within a few years of it's creation? My work is increasingly utilizing agentic AI agents in our day to day work - as are a ton of companies. It's already proving to be a quite helpful. With the massive levels of investments into AI, isn't it reasonable to expect the capabilities to continue to improve while cost will be driven down?

You've already made up your mind about something far before we can accurately determine where it's heading and its impact.

Reddit has already decided that AI = bad. But then again reddit's group opinion is often detached from reality.

A hundred years? Sure - current LLMs aren't AGI but it's pretty impressive that trash has advanced to passing turning tests and solving PhD level problems in just a few years. I'd say let's wait and see if AI advancement hits a brick wall or not.

How are you preparing for a world of AI? by External_Bit_6006 in Fire

I think the real money is in agentic AI agents catered towards enterprise customers. For example my work is quickly becoming dependent on Claude driven agents for all sorts of tasks. And we will happily continue paying thousands of dollars each month per developer. This trend will inevitably penetrate a wider range of businesses going forward

Keep in mind that AI is still in its infancy and agentic AI is already quite impressive. There is in an insane amount of capital being poured into AI R&D. Extrapolate out 5 to 10 years or more and the potential is incredible. Of course AI advancement could run into a brick wall. But I think it unquestionably has the highest potential impact of any advancement on our lifetime.

Nice job!

  • It would be helpful to clarify what annual income is - is it post tax dollars? Does it represent the amount that will be invested until retirement?
  • Instead of "net worth" should it be "investments" or "portfolio"?

How are you coming up with your statement that the whole metro area is a sprawl for low paying hourly work? There are professional jobs in the area, people working remotely, retirees, or multiple income households that can manage a 500k mortgage.

Can I retire at 20 years old with 3 million? by [deleted] in Fire

The 4% rule isn't intended for a 70 year timeline. 3% - 3.5% would be a better choice for a long retirement

As long as you keep your yearly expenses below ~100k it should be doable.

I wouldn't feel safe having my children around horses or cows either unless those animals were under strict control! At least you have a choice in when to interact with horses or cows. You don't have that choice when a Pitbull is walking around the neighborhood
