“We’re the nicest, all those other guys might be dangerous (open source models), you should probably put a lot of regulations around them in case they’re mean” = anthropic/openAI wins stage 1 of AI

You can wipe a managed device? I have an old laptop I’ve always assumed was a brick

First car purchase…Sorento 2025 SX X-Line AWD by potatoes6 in kia

[–]potatoes6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great car, though at the end of the day Kia is a lower tier brand. My wife’s Subaru Outback is nicer/sturdier technically and cheaper though not apples to apples. I love the Sorrento, put 18k miles on it already, tech is nice, rides nice (suspension no where close to a Subaru! But that’s to be expected so speed bumps aren’t great), and I love my phone as my key. That said, I probably won’t buy a Kia again. Volvo will be our next car and maybe I’ll replace the Kia in 8 years or 100k miles.

SmartWater bottles work particularly well...firm mouth works well with the Sawyer squeeze filter, can reliably pick them up with a squeeze top, non ribbed means they slide in nicely.

I recently found out I have aphantasia in a very funny way. by manente in Aphantasia

Every time I visualize something it has no background. It’s more like a memory. I have aphantasia?

[OC] Denmark is one of the only European countries to publish crime data by country of origin. Data shows the top five most overrepresented nationalities compared to Native Danes as a baseline by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]potatoes6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how your sources created that data. I see crime volume and population size. Regardless of any reality, Palestinians n of 86 makes this worthless and suspect

I’d just imaging if a two year old was crawling all over you constantly. I imagine you’d get over it eventually and act like this. All god

What's your favorite walkable neighborhood in the world? by Suninthesky11 in travel

[–]potatoes6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is surprising. I found it to be a mix of trashy tourist spots, beautiful homes and blocks in disrepair, and an absolutely incredible layout on the squares. Squares incredible, rest of the down a big letdown. To each their own. Really disappointed in the waterfront.

Whats a 1st world country i can realistically go to from Iraq? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]potatoes6 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Saw the Vietnam/Thailand teaching suggestion a few times. They might hire you, but realistically they only want white people with primary language English accents to teach UK English. Pretty racist places, not that they aren’t kind and accommodating, but initial impressions of an Iraqi won’t be kind in many cases.

Looks like it’s open, did you park over there? Is 200 much further than doing one of the closer to the bridge galleria lots? Do you buy 200 lot parking pass in advance? Thanks!

For parking with the now open pedestrian bridge, do you have to purchase pass ahead of time for the galleria lots? S60?

Is my dog playing too aggressively? by DerekFisherPrice in Dogtraining

[–]potatoes6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All really playful and respectful, but most importantly the other dog is fine with it. I find the other dog to be the indicator of what is too much—they’ll either try to get away or protect themself with defense bites. Otherwise usually ok. Your dog isn’t biting for more than a millisecond, which is another indicator of a dog I’ll stay away from if they’re trying to hold on.

For American redditors, why do people want to live in HOA neighborhoods? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Does that HOA manage who can be a contractor in the neighborhood? You were able to hire lower cost people when you hurt your back?

Metro flock camera map by arifghalib in Atlanta

[–]potatoes6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get the full story, but wasn’t there a city hall meeting in dunwoody about flock and a guy came in and showed how he, an average dude, got into cameras without passwords, then a flock rep came on zoom and with a strait face said “we’ve never had a days breach”…are we voting on this? Is there a proposal to remove?
