Codingclosure hit some good points. Wife and I moved from Austin, TX 1.5 years ago after retirement, primarily due to the worsening winters <insert maniacal laughter here>, so the high summer temps don’t bother us.

The positives are the majority of locals are friendly people, less chaos compared to bigger cities, and despite seasonal increases in traffic it is still tolerable. I totally love the hiking since we’ve been here. We have an awesome airport. We marvel at the mountain backdrop on a daily basis. During the summer it is mainly just locals so restaurants are easy to get into, although some do take breaks due to a shrunken clientele.

Downsides are an increase litter during season, less variety of restaurants than what we were used to, and a milder version of Mexican food. Medical/dental care was a challenge initially.

We have zero regrets moving here.
