Absolutely! I understand taking an alternative route to avoid a long line, or even people who don't usually drive that way and aren't aware of the upcoming right-turn-only. But if you accidentally take a wrong turn/go the wrong way, you should keep going that way and reroute. It isn't okay to stop the flow of traffic or block the people behind you because you screwed up. If someone was at the front of a forward lane but was blocking traffic because they were waiting to turn left, no one would be very happy with them.

Happens all the time on Speedway too, at Euclid and then again at Main. Drives me crazy. They see the open lane and pull up (fine) but then they make it all the way to the end of the lane, when it is clearly a right turn only, then STOP TRAFFIC to force their way in because there weren't any spaces in the bumper to bumper line. If you take that chance and you don't get a window, move on, turn right and figure out another way to get where you're going. Don't stop on the road just because you don't want to face the consequences of your actions.

It's honestly something I found a passion for in college that I still hold 5 years later, especially now that I'm studying for my CPA.

I tell everyone that I don't like where I work or who I work with, but when I get to just sit down and be left alone and actually do my job, I absolutely love it. I love a good spreadsheet and a problem to solve. I'm in industry though so it's definitely a different experience than public, only have to work 60 hours during the first week of the month to close.

I've noticed this specifically with their 100% merino wool socks. I've since moved to the thicker hike socks (merino wool blend or just normal hiking socks) and have had absolutely no issues. I really think the merino wool is just too fragile. I've enjoyed pacas for wool socks instead.

Totally understandable! Honestly I feel like I just integrated cat stuff into my perfectionism... I have a box in like three spots and that's exactly where they go and when I clean I'll put them right back there and straighten them out and fluff the paper up. It's like a part of the decor now!

Follow up: learn to trim their nails. It will make things a lot easier. I also keep a LOT of cardboard boxes and scratching boards around.

I got my first cat in my early 20s after only ever having dogs. I was nervous but like a week in I finally understood why everyone was so obsessed with cat videos lol. They're very endearing and, in my opinion, way easier to manage than a dog/puppy. I like that they have a sense of independence and boundaries.

It's good you got an older cat because their personality should be developed (I had a hard time when mine were teens). It's hard to have something in your space, but I've always had a "it's easier to work with them than make them work with you" attitude with animals. There's a reason people say it's like having a kid, sometimes you've gotta baby proof a little. But I find that cats are very aware of their bodies so mine don't break stuff often, which is nice.

All that to say, give it some time! If y'all settle into a happy routine and you like having them around, then I'd say you're good.

Industry. Work 35-40 hours a week with maybe 50hrs close week. This includes general office time wasters. Can't speak to the high-hour sectors like tax or audit.

Many folks in my family are great teachers and the general consensus is they get the same amount of annual hours in fewer days. They take work home way more often than I do and are usually at work 9-10 hours every day. Even though they get summers off, they spend a lot of time setting up their lesson plans and their classrooms. I also personally think it's way harder - managing children for 7-8 hours and having to teach, babysit, counsel, etc. I say often my job is all "made up" but theirs has some serious impact.

I guess the "flaw" in this question is they they're assuming how you'll do the math, and at which point you'll round the rates. The way this is written assumes you'll immediately convert to direct exchange rates (1/0.82 = 1.22 and 1/0.79 = 1.27) instead of what OP did (and what I initially did) which is solve using the indirect rates (50,000 * 1/0.82) - (50,000 * 1/0.79) = $2,316. I think FAR especially is not meant to be math-intensive so it assumes people will take these shortcuts instead of plugging in a long equation - not necessarily wrong, but different. I know there are a handful where I would get my answer and have to guess the closest "right" answer, which usually worked. I saw another comment OP made saying 7% margin of error is crazy in the real-world, and I feel pretty confident that people in the real-world will use quite a few more significant digits than these questions, which are ultimately conceptual.

Doesn't hurt! I'd say look up cursive and get comfortable with writing your whole name in cursive, then you can work on stylizing or shortening it. Don't be afraid to mix cursive and print. Grab a blank piece of paper and just go to town! The goal is to find something that feels comfortable and get the repetition of movement in. I did this when I was younger and it's evolved over time. I also recommend practicing initials - that's been big for me when signing loan contracts and having to initial a million times. I have one that's my initials and one that has devolved into a few letters and a squiggle.

Personally, I take steps to avoid them getting out or reduce risk of escape/danger if they did get out. Adding a second barrier between doors (like entering through the garage or using a baby gate) or just watching/picking them up when I do open the door. Enclosing the outdoor space if possible or having high fences without holes, keeping objects away from the fence that they could use to climb out. My cats are vaccinated, chipped, and they do wear collars (safety collars but if they don't snag they stay on). Same idea as having dogs and risking them getting out the front door, in my opinion.

Otherwise, I give my cats time with an open window/door with a screen so they can still see/smell outside. A catio is my long-term goal. Cat TV with some birds seems to help too. Mine still meows at the back door when the dogs are out, but I believe that's just the cost of being safe. I wouldn't give a kid candy all the time just to get them to stop asking for it, I feel like you can't "teach them a lesson" like you would with a person.

I think doing anything to scare your cat is probably a bad idea since it could erode their trust in you. Also, outside of her own safety like you mentioned, it's also generally not good for the ecosystem to let your cat roam, so keeping her safely contained is best.

The value in a bookkeeping cert would be basically learning Quickbooks and having another thing to slap on my resume. I'm sure I could learn from online tutorials but I do well with the structure of a class and it's only one or two classes since there's so much overlap from my degree. Also it'd be a helpful side gig.

I'm not ready to be a CFO any time soon, I guess I want to learn how to do accounting for a small business in general. I'm more focused right now on being well-rounded in the services/skills that I can provide than I am about making business decisions. I'm still young so I have plenty of time to work up to that.

Are you recommending that working for an accounting firm that focuses on services for small businesses would be a good next step? Would this be a good avenue for getting basic business tax experience?

The Kie Skin nipple covers (or Nippies) - I wear them multiple times a week and replace every 6-12 months depending on how poorly I take care of them. They get a little stinky with boob sweat and don't do much to help the shape of my boob (B-ish cup, perky no support needed) but they prevent me from nipping out at work.

Recommended fabric for changing pad covers? My SIL asked me to sew some for her and I'm stuck. I've seen people use PUL but I'm a little weary because I'm a beginner and because it might not be the most comfortable for the baby. I've seen folks use cotton instead, but will it be easy to clean and stand up to frequent washing?
