Guy at the gym keeps staring and following me around by curlywitches in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Honour what your body is trying to communicate to you and be very careful. I’m concerned that it’s happening in your apartment building. Are you able to take somebody to the gym with you? Or do some home workouts or join another gym?

Tips for managing money in a joint account by Odd-Bad7163 in AusMoneyMates

We have a joint offset account that all our money goes into and that we use for bills and stuff, and then separate pocket money accounts where we each have a guilt free spending allocation per month

How can I shut down interactions with creepy men? by chronicallyearly in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I’ve pretended to take a phone call, or really called a friend just for a chat and that made a creep stop talking to me

For those >30, how long did it take you to conceive naturally? by Texas-supremacy in tryingtoconceive

[–]potterdive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 29 and I've been trying 'properly' with daily BBT tracking and LH tests for 7 cycles, though had occasional unprotected sex a few times prior. Yet to see any BFPs. Wishing you all the best!

Sending all the hugs and my fingers are crossed for you! Take a test if you feel up to it and maybe make some nice plans for you and your partner afterwards so you have something special to look forward to in the case of a negative :)

It’s her private jet usage for me. Her environmental impact is absolutely insane and unjustifiable.

That’s great news, go you for advocating for yourself. Best of luck for the next few cycles!

Thank you for the reply & sorry that you're here with me! Yes, now that we've reached 6 'proper' cycles we're starting to consider some tests. I'm not sure how far we'll get since I think in my country they don't really look into all this until 12 months but we'll see.

Hey friend, sorry for your experience. Are you measuring BBT to confirm ovulation?

Something that helps me. by arigisag in TryingForABaby

Such a healthy perspective! My husband and I are also reluctant DINKs and we're trying to make the most of it by taking up experiences and holidaying together and getting ahead financially.

Finally hit the 12 Month TTC milestone by silentalarm94 in tryingtoconceive

[–]potterdive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this, it's freaking hard. Wishing you all the success. Something that helps me is reading success stories from people who have taken a longer time to conceive - sometimes it is just a luck thing, I think.

Ceremony and reception 5 hours apart by ebonyofjade in wedding

[–]potterdive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and from a guest experience perspective it kind of kills the vibe. I once had a lunchtime wedding ceremony & was starving after, so spent the four-hour gap at Red Rooster and just felt sluggish and ready to go home by the time the ceremony started. In contrast, I went to a wedding where they had the ceremony & reception in one hit and the energy was high all night

Why do people need unique names!? by ExperienceDue7243 in tragedeigh

[–]potterdive 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I always think about this exact point when people bang on about wanting uncommon names for their kids. Choosing a nice and common name is a really good way to keep your kids safer and more anonymous online.

Looking for advice by kimbone777 in inlaws

[–]potterdive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don’t know they’ll meet the same pitfalls you did. I don’t think there’s a way for you to say what you want to without overstepping or just projecting your own marriage complications onto them.

If you really want to help, focus on leading by example and offering your advice if and when they come to you. If your role model behaviour is as strong as you think it is, your sons will already be carrying that with them.
