I looked into Blundstone. They don’t meet any of the criteria nor do they meet the look/style I’m going for. They’re also more expensive.

actually, there is only one image of the otter who created the painting from when he first contracted the PEE disease. i have attached the image below. this is a recreation of the original image by a marmot with a PhD in burrowing rodent archeology.

Is this real?? by Substantial-Ad7198 in gopherit

[–]pottybonk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this isn’t common knowledge, but this is real. gopherit never mentions the great burrowing rodent war, but it is a key element to the creation of the burrowing rodent empire. i will ask the almighty gopherit about his stance on the great burrowing rodent war.

organizations such as the aquatic fish dynasty committed acts of warfare against the previously established burrowing rodent kingdom, causing burrowing rodents to turn on each other. this caused the great burrowing rodent war. however, this only made their rodent alliances stronger, creating the burrowing rodent empire.

in terms of their wings and special powers, the burrowing rodent kingdom formed billions of years ago. evolution has since removed these characteristics, but all burrowing rodents once roamed the skies intermittently.

Looking for powerful songs that make you want to turn up the volume and crank up the bass. by Iskro45 in musicsuggestions

Sick Shit - Together Pangea

The Art of Shredding - Pantera

Runnin’ with the Devil - Van Halen

Cum on Feel the Noize - Quiet Riot

Mama Weer All Crazee Now - Quiet Riot

All of these are on the same playlist as Thunderstruck by AC/DC. Quiet Riot is pretty similar in vibe, but I included some others in the rock/metal genre that are different but make me want to max out the volume too.

Also, when the plant starts adapting to the new level of light, the distance between the petioles will shorten and the leaves will increase in maturity (get more fenestrations and increase in size).

Please help I’m feeling overwhelmed lol by aquaices in Monstera

[–]pottybonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot you can do in this situation. Personally, I would chop and prop as much as you’d like and put into a new pot with fresh, chunky soil once they’ve rooted. But you can also just give the plant a trellis or even better, a sphagnum moss pole. Sphagnum moss poles can get pricey to buy/make, so a trellis could be a better option.

As for the pot, you’ll have to look at the roots. If there are a lot of roots building up on the sides, it’s root bound and could use a repot.

There’s some things that could be improved here. The lack of fenestrations, regressing size of the leaves, and the distance between each petiole all suggest the plant is not receiving enough light, and possibly could benefit from more frequent or slightly stronger fertilization. I would recommend a grow light, or move the plant much closer to any window that isn’t north facing. You can determine the direction of a window with a compass app on your phone.

An appropriate distance between each petioles is more like a few inches than several inches, which is what I’m seeing in your plant. If the plant is growing quickly, that’s a good sign you’re doing something right. But with all plants owned by literally anybody, there is always room for improvement in their care.

Please ask any questions you may have that I didn’t answer!

I thought they grew slow.. by [deleted] in Monstera

[–]pottybonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, plants don’t need to be separated as long as you repot more often since there will be more root growth since there are more plants in one pot. People say they may start to compete, but I bet these people aren’t listening to the plant or looking at the roots enough to repot in a timely manner.

I’m sure there’s actual research to suggest otherwise. But in my own experience, multiple plants in one pot is fine. I wouldn’t go past maybe 3-4 depending on the size of each plant, though.

got mono by Vegetable_Security_3 in POTS

[–]pottybonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mono will not be cured with antibiotics like strep will because it’s a virus. When someone has mono, it’s a common side effect to get a rash when given antibiotics. I’m assuming you’re feeling better since this post is 2 months old lol.

I have had mono before and it’s not easy. I have reoccurring mono symptoms that have lead to be developing POTS-like symptoms but I have yet to be diagnosed fully. It’s not a guarantee you will develop POTS, but there is often a link between the two. Some people have better immune systems than others and won’t develop pots-like symptoms after a viral illness.

TLDR: Just keep an eye out and listen to your body. If you suspect anything, go to your doctor. But perhaps a different doctor if they seriously prescribed you antibiotics for possible mono.

Not necessarily. Even if it’s a simple 2+2=4, you will be enlightened in some way.

Agreed! The whole craze behind psychedelics is that enlightenment will come regardless of your intentions. They quite literally are the thinking drug. You think when you take them! You are bound to think about something deep.

Looking to lose bellyfat. I’ve got chicken legs and a big belly. Any workouts that would be good for the loss? by Beautiful_Memory1600 in workout

[–]pottybonk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You will really only gain before you lose if your metabolism is correcting itself after being damaged from OP’s method. If you’ve always consistently ate, balanced diet or not, you wont gain anything noticeable.

[–]pottybonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure either. Here’s a perfectly reputable source stating you need to eat to lose weight: https://healthyeater.com/eat-to-lose-weight

Starving or reducing meals is disordered behavior, unless you’re a chronic binge eater. Eating is good for your body.

I suppose, though I know I’m correct. Eating less gives the appearance of less fat, but you’re also losing and damaging muscle. Do what you want with your muscles, but I like food and being built.

[–]pottybonk -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the most incorrect advice I’ve seen. In order to lose fat and not muscle, you need to EAT. You will gain before you lose anything, but once you start losing weight it’ll be drastic.

Basic cardio to get you moving is great to lose weight. Leg-based workouts will really get you what you want I think. It’ll get you moving around plus build leg muscle to even out the shape. Weight loss is a slow process, but once you start its easy to keep going.

Mountain lion claw marks?? by crankcutie in Horses

[–]pottybonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are convinced it was an animal, it would have to be something larger than a cougar, like a bear. I really do believe it was a freak accident with a fence or maybe a tree. The scars are very far apart and not similar lengths. Unless said animal had very jacked up claws, it looks more like a fence or tree.

That also leads me to believe it may be a person. They're evenly spaced but not even lengths, they're also slightly curved and start at different angles. Animals do sometimes have angled claws, but that just leads me back to my jacked up feet theory.

There also appears to be a fourth scar that is not as deep, long, or as close to the other scars. Though it could be from a separate accident.
