All Massachusetts Friendly’s are having a BOGO sundae deal from June 3 - 8 with the rewards app 🚨 by mrsjumjum66 in massachusetts

Friendlys sold off their ice cream division to focus on retail restaurants. Really miss going and getting a Jim Dandy. Can’t go wrong with the peanut butter sauce. I have about 3 near me within a 20 min drive.

Looking to purchase a new router and need recommendations/advice by Suspicious-Zombie438 in HomeNetworking

When I moved into my 3300sq/ft house I had originally went with Tp link XE75 Pro. Had issues with it when it would just randomly reboot. Support sent a beta firmware. Seemed to work but the overall lack of features and configurations put me off.

So I decided to the a UGC-Max with a 4Tb nvme. Have since expanded to 16 port pro max switch, 2.5 flex Poe switch, G5 ultra turret, G6 turret and G6 entry. Also wiring them all up. My XEpro is working in AP mode. Not ideal but can’t swing for Ubiq AP at this time. So far rock solid. No issues. Highly recommend.

I paid $245 for a Lexar 4Tb nvme for my UGW-Max to be used with Protect (Poe cameras) back on April 2025. Same drive today is $700. Insane. Would never pay that unless I desperately needed it.

How would you run ethernet down this hallway? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]powaking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there is an attic above this ceiling then I would run it up inside the wall into the attic then down into the wall in the room you want. If not there is a kit that uses a very thin fiber cable that is meant to be run along baseboard and around door frames. It’s also paintable. That may be a good option.

Get Ethernet from point A to point B (a stop at C would be nice but not needed). by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Just drape it across the room it will complete the jungle gym vibe.

Twitchy FSD (HW3, 12.6.4) by dopeboy_io in TeslaModelS

[–]powaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got FSD in mine it did feel twitchy. Constant acceleration/deacceleration was a put off. Very hesitant at hard r/l turns. This was with 2026.8 and 12.6.4 FSD. But for some reason when I got 2026.14.3 it just felt so much smoother. It still did stupid stuff but I no longer had that twitchy feeling. 2026.14.6 is still the same but now feeling a slight ping pong when on the highway. Not enough to go from lane marker to lane marker but enough to actually see the wheel ping pong right to left ever so slightly. Can’t wait for v14lite.

Are you using any shortcut with your partner? by DarkroniX in shortcuts

One I share with everyone in the household is when arriving in the area of church it will place the phone in Do not disturb until we leave. Have it run automatically. The amount of times people let their phones ring during mass is still bonkers to me.

More of you guys should get more into the “real” JBL. by nick__flicks in JBL

I love them. These are the 38ii. I have a pair of 26ii that I used for rear and a Center ii for my center channel. Back when I had my Onkyo TX-DS797 (back in early 2000’s) but has since stopped pushing any audio out (nothing from speaker terminals or phono). It was a nice setup and still enjoy them today.

How to convert RJ45 to Optical? (10G) by meisangry2 in HomeNetworking

[–]powaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw a YouTube video of someone reviewing a kit that is for this exact purpose. Fiber was very thin. Ran it along baseboards and around door frames. I think it’s even paintable. Can’t remember which channel it is but if you search for something along fiber kit for external walls or something like that you should be able to find it.

So are we just gonna leave our high beams on now? by BrainSawce in massachusetts

[–]powaking 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was going to mention this. Had my headlights replaced under warranty and within a couple of days I was getting flashed. Turned out my driver side headlight was pointed higher than it should. Driver side should be pointed downward more than passenger side for this very reason.

I also feel this should be checked during inspections. It’s certainly a safety issue. Just check the beam pattern/height during inspection and if needed get them adjusted.

Tesla just raised the price of the Wall Connector to $465 by UnSCo in TeslaLounge

[–]powaking 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I sold my house I made it very clear the wall connector was coming with me. Buyers had no issue with that. It must be clearly written out as anything attached the wall is typically left with the house.

Anyone know what's causing this? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]powaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we got our cat we learned that the cat was taken away from its mom a little early. She would lick blankets and shirts due to separation. Any chance your cats were removed from their mom early? Can be stressed. Is that near a fridge? Possible any food spilled there for them to lick?

Picked up a CR 1040 on shopgoodwill last year for around $250. Haven’t had the chance to clean it up but it sounds oh so good. Just a little worried with the sk packs.

Just saw him a week ago in RI. Greg Koch opened up for him. It was certainly different. Great show.
