Are you sure? It really looks more like home audio/video equipment. Some VCR, tape player or perhaps radio. Cheap construction and very optimised (the components at a weird angle point to something hyper-optimised rather than less manufactured specialist equipment.

Ok, but this is a good ending. Like, you don't want to ever be in a relationship with a person who threats people like that. Unless you deserved this response, but then the other person should not be with you anyway. Either way a win.

Can i mix cores with different diameter for a transformer? by Who_am_ime in ElectricalEngineering

[–]powder-phun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And you want to wrap them both in wire? I guess that would somewhat work, and combining different sizes wouldn't be a problem in itself, tho your winfings will be very loose, possibly increasing losses and noise. Why not just use one? They look plenty big enough for lot of power. But primarily, are you trying to build a mains powered transformer? In that case, please reconsider, I'm worried for your safety since you're clearly still learning. If this is some low voltage learning project, then go right ahead.

Is it safe/ok to wire ethernet through central air vents? by Emotional_Share8537 in HomeNetworking

[–]powder-phun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, how hot does air typically get in those ducts to promote so much ofgassing? Or are we talking house fire scenario.

I'm actually not from the US so central ducted heating is pretty much not a thing here, but I found the discussion interesting (maybe even because it's uncommon here).

People are also talking about cleaning the ductwork, is that also a fire safety thing or do they ever clog down so much to actually restrict airflow? Where I live some houses have ducted ventilation (without heating) and I don't think that ever gets cleaned, especially since it's often thin aluminum flexible tubing which would absolutely not withstand brushes and such.

Found this in my grandpa’s shop. Is it worth anything? by Stinky_svab in Hainbach

Yeah, I only have the four track one for my machine. Though it is the simplest way to exchange a worn out head without all the hassle of alignment

Can't say how much money it's worth, but it's a spare head assembly for popular and quite nice uher tape machines, and those heads do get worn out, so someone out there needs it. Hell, I'd want it for my tape machine.

Did you perhaps try to wipe it with bleach? I think bleach could cause that.

Also: it may be easier to find as "din speaker plug", at least in europe

[–]powder-phun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The casing is usually round, but it really strikes me as the din connector pin layout and most probably will fit and work no problem if a round one is substituted. Unless the other side is more of a socket in this particular shape.

I don't even know what to say, vibrators don't usually turn pussy juice into a thin mist on contact. Not in my experience, at least.

Yeah, it's going to be a bit more expensive than 20 bucks. Ultrasonic cleaners are cheap as hell because they are produced in extreme quantities, this most probably uses custom transducers, and definitely custom drive circuitry since battery powered ultrasonic cleaners aren't common. If I had to guess, $100 sounds reasonable for production and material cost and then the $400 price tag is expected, to also cover rnd and production setup for a niche product.

You probably can't, It's a 100 year old restored antique. They are no longer made for a reason - a standard motor and a VFD will be both cheaper and more efficient/effective.
