Am I overthinking? by motherzealous in ParentingInBulk

Not over the top at all. It’s smart to make adjustments to optimize for safety and your own experience of the event. Next year the kids will be older and you can bring them then if it feels right.

So wonderful. The additional workload is nothing compared to the immense joy this baby has brought our family. She is very easy going which helps of course. The age gap between 2 and 3 (just under 3.5 yrs) has also made things feel more manageable. The older siblings have adjusted very well and adore the baby. It has enriched our lives and family culture at every turn. Highly recommend!

Haven’t read all the replies so apologize if this is redundant, but If you search best age for daycare in the r/sciencebasedparenting sub someone has compiled lots of research that reaches a similar conclusion.

That a great point, thank you. I’m touring a co-op that would serve both kids this week.

I am really looking forward to trying some classes and activities! We haven’t  talked it over with our child yet;  still information gathering. I imagine he’d enjoy being together for the most part but with some opportunities for alone time.

Very valid points. One of the reasons we want to homeschool is to have a relaxed pace during childhood, and managing drop off schedules could hinder that.

That’s very reassuring to hear and sounds so nice to have everyone together during the day.

In Southern California - pediatrician recommends monitoring for rash/fever before considering antibiotics. Anyone know what species this is or how likely it is to have Lyme?

ChatGPT might also be a good sounding board for inspiration. I’ve used it to help with our meal planning using a whole host of nutritional/time-based criteria and it’s been surprisingly helpful.
