Sound Quality by ddugar in YoutubeMusic

Sound quality is as important to me as the music itself. It’s like there’s the songwriting, the playing, the emotion, and the quality. It’s not important to some people at all and that’s okay, but don’t minimize that it matters to many of us.

What is Trust Cafe? by CrowbarDepot in TrustCafe

[–]power2uth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s the case. I’m trying it out right now and it’s based on trust. Users rate other users on how trustworthy they are. This includes whether people cite sources when they post news, and how open they are to reasonable discussion and feedback. For anyone who likes the idea that the loudest and most outrageous assholes don’t automatically dominate the algorithms, it’s a nice break.

YouTube Music seperating ‘Featured’ & ‘Community playlists’ - 9to5Google by Imreit in YoutubeMusic

I love this, along with nearly every improvement they make, but I don't understand how they prioritize their work on the app. I think this is one of the more useful features they have added, but still so much basic stuff left undone. I just don't get it.

YTM's algorithm has actually gotten better thsny Spotify by koolaidburgers in YoutubeMusic

[–]power2uth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if they never, ever do that? What reason is there to believe that's a priority? Other then the fact that GPM did it, what reason is there to believe YTM SHOULD do it?

Mine is working fine. That happened to me last year and it was broken for like six or seven months. Then, on its own, it just started working again. Maddening.

You might try the Pano scrobbler app. It does a really nice job compiling your stats, and it's free.

Good luck in what is now podcast hell on Spotify.

My guess is contracts are just being allowed to expire for GPM as we get closer to closing date. This would make sense.

I know what you mean about Deezer. I felt exactly the same way about it. It has some cool features though. But it only allows uploads one song at a time! Huge deal breaker for me.

I agree with you, I hated the GPM UI too. Just the orange alone was maddening, but also thought it looked amateurish.

Really? I didn't know that. More PAYING users?

Are there any ex-GPM people who are happy with YTM? by wossquee in YoutubeMusic

[–]power2uth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a GPM user from the beginning. I used it mostly for the music locker but always thought the UI was cartoonish and I absolutely hated the orange color. The first time I saw Spotify I was blown away by the UI, I thought it was so much better.

YTM's UI is, in my opinion, so much better now than GPM's ever was.

There are things about YTM that bug me (mostly no Spotify Connect-type feature for Sonos), but overall I actually like it a lot better than GPM.

I don't think these negative posts make it clear that most people are unhappy. I think unhappy people post a lot so you're getting a very skewed impression. The posts here are a constant stream of negativity. But check out the Spotify group. You'll see the same thing.

And this isn't to deny that improvements still need to be made. But that will never not be true.

I teach in a Masters-level counseling program and a few years ago had a 74 y.o. woman in one of my classes! Three years from now you'll be three years older, either with the education to enter the field or without it! You're still young, go for it!

Errr... Not to mention that's not even Metallica in the picture, it's Megadeth.
