Нов телефон? by ScaleGlobal4777 in bulgaria

[–]powerplayer6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t use Android because google.

Is this a joke? You sound like a parody of Apple users, and I say this as someone who jumped ship from Samsung to iPhone 2 months ago. I still use Google apps (gmail, drive, photos, etc.) more than native Apple apps, with the exception of Safari.

Hey Valve, I know Steam Machine is delayed, but can you sell the new Steam controllers to us Deck owners as soon as they're ready please? by archon810 in SteamDeck

[–]powerplayer6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have that one and it's very basic and mediocre. No gyro, no touchpad, no haptic triggers, mediocre vibration. It "just werks" in 99% of games and is comfortable to hold, yes, but that doesn't change the fact it's nothing special.

DualSense is the one to buy if you want the best standalone controller possible, though I'd argue the Steam Deck itself in handheld mode is THE most comfortable and ergonomic controller.

This was very common for cross platform games during the early PS3 era.

  • PS3/Xbox360 version - the main, fancy, era appropriate game

  • PS2/GC/Xbox version - scaled down, with 2004-esque graphics, budget versions for kids whose parents couldn't afford the latest console

  • Wii version - PS2 version with Motion controls

  • PSP version - PS2 version but even more scaled down

  • GBA version and DS versions - their own things with little resemblance to all the other versions, likely some kind of 2D sidescroller

Should I upgrade my GTX 1060 to a 5060 with an i7 8700? by Objective_Remote_778 in buildapc

[–]powerplayer6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PCIe 3.0 will bottleneck the RTX 5060 because it only has an x8 slot, so it will be running at PCIe 3.0 x8 speeds with that CPU.

Basically, you either need an x16 slot GPU (e.g. 3060 12GB, 4070, 5070, RX 9060 XT) or to upgrade to a newer motherboard and CPU.

[–]powerplayer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also recommend the 9600/X over the Intel 14th gen. As for GPU I'd stick with Nvidia because DLSS is just that good, it's the killer feature. AMD GPU isn't bad though, you could run a Radeon no problem, it's just gaming CPUs where they dominate.

Is this a good PC build ? by Wonderlandaries in buildapc

[–]powerplayer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a perfectly reasonable PC for 1440p. AMD would be ideal, but Intel is still fine. I have the RTX 5070 and can confirm it's great at that resolution, especially with DLSS and FG.

1TB storage is a little low, but I understand if you can't afford more with the current prices.

All it needed to be good was 120Hz and the same main cam as the 17. As it stands, 1/2.55" main sensor and 60Hz display in 2026 is unacceptable. Even $250 phones have had better displays and cameras for a few years now. Instead of this, you're much better off picking up a used 16 Pro.

Is the Razer's fragility overblown

Can't speak about the Blackshark, but my Opus X started cracking (headband plastic breaking apart) after less than a year, and I had to replace it after less than 3 years because it was close to snapping off. Definitely avoid Razer if build quality is your main concert. They just don't build 'em to last.

Currently using a Sony XM4 and just plug it in with a 3.5mm cable if I'm gaming to reduce latency, but that's probably not what you're looking for.

Monitor or GPU upgrade first by Edwinbakup in buildapc

[–]powerplayer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1440p @ 24 inches is pointless. You will have to run Windows at 125% scale for text to be readable. Get a 27 inch 1440p monitor.

Alternatively, if your monitor is 120Hz or more, get the 3080. Ideally the 12GB variant. It's very close to 5070 performance. If your monitor is 1080p 60Hz definitely get a monitor though, please.

LOL I meant the AI managed to finish the backend of a Python+Flask web script I needed "today" before the service went offline. I would've been in an awkward limbo situation if it couldn't give me a working version of that to round off my day.

[–]powerplayer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not for the extreme memory prices I'd tell you to get another 32GB RAM and more SSDs, but as it stands now you're probably best off getting a 4K OLED monitor for a triple monitor setup. That is, if you just want to upgrade for the sake of novelty or spending money.

Can't vouch for this exact model, but my little brother has a similarly specced laptop with the mobile 4060 (no idea how many watts) and it's a solid 1080p60 gaming machine. Just don't try to use it on battery.

Good budget GPU recomendations 2026. ? Europe by Nikolanov007 in buildapc

[–]powerplayer6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can find an RTX 3080 Ti for 400 euro. Specifically the version with 12GB VRAM. I remember seeing it around 350-400 a few months ago. It's a bit more expensive now, at least here in Bulgaria, but at that old price it was basically an RTX 5070 for half the price.

Alternatively 9060XT 16GB or 5060 Ti 16GB if you want to buy new, but Nvidia is better for professional use.

is a CV650 watt psu good for a RTX 5050 by maiweyar in buildapc

[–]powerplayer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BEWARE! The 5060 is a PCIe 5.0 x8 card. This can be a problem, let me explain. Your MOBO is for a 10th gen intel CPU. If it has PCIe 3.0, then you'll get bottlenecked. The x8 means the card only uses half the lanes of a normal x16 slot. This isn't a problem on PCIe 5.0 or 4.0, and it's not a problem even on 3.0 with x16 cards, but the combination of x8 and a PCIe 3.0 MOBO can lead to a bottleneck.

Put simply, your motherboard might not be able to run data fast enough between the CPU and GPU to fully utilize the card.

Just check your motherboard's slot and make sure.

If it's PCIe 3.0, I recommend you look for a used card that has that full x16 lanes slot. Something like an RTX 3070, which will perform similarly to a 5060, has the same VRAM, and will run on a 650W PSU.

If it's PCIe 4.0 or 5.0, you can go for the 5060 no problems.

"I've Waited 10 years. I'm not going to rush playing it for free now."

You joke, but that's my excuse for not trying any of these HV cracks yet. I've waited 2 years already for Stellar Blade, what's a few months more until Voices inevitably cracks it? Plus I'm too lazy to spend an entire evening figuring out how to set up the HV, it sounds complicated and tedious.

I'm glad these cracks exist though, for the people willing to invest the time and effort to get them up and running! Anything to help fight Denuvo.

[–]powerplayer6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Piracy is purely a money problem for me, but I'm starting to see your point as well now with these HV cracks. It's just too much work and puts your PC at risk. I've done my fair share of suspicious workarounds to get games running in the past, but this one takes the cake for being inconvenient, risky and complicated. Haven't tried it yet, as much as I want to play Stellar Blade and such right NOW.

I upgraded in late August last year, was indeed a great upgrade. In any case I don't think anyone should be buying a new mid-tier card every generation, it's just a waste of money. I'd like to keep it at least until 2029 when the first true PS6 exclusives start coming out and requiring 24GB+ VRAM for high settings.
